[Resolved]  Yamaha / Fz16 — Substandard Spare Parts

Dear sir,

I have purchased a Yamaha FZ16 on 17th,july2009 and in not more than two months a considerable issue o[censored]sage of substandard spare parts has came in front o[censored]s.

Bike's rear wheel rim has got a crack in it and since there are tubeless tyres, air is passing through the crack of the rim. Earlier, I thought that its a manufacturing defect so obviously showroom people will definately take care of it but when I approached the showroom than the worker over there told us that they have three other complaints with the same trouble and this kind of trouble has occured due to poor roads of the city. He also said to us that nothing can be done in this from the company's side and we have to go for an insuerance claim only.

In not more than two months, the rim which is such an important part of the bike's body has proven its substandart quality after getting a crack in not more than two months in it but what was more shoking was the attitude of the showroom people towards the issue as if it is a very regular case and this is not a fault on the company's part.

But if thats what the company people think than they should provide complimentary rims to the customer right at the purchase of the vehicle or this should be told to the customer that this bike is not to be driven on the indian roads so they should all shift themselves to US or some other developed country as the rim will crack here after riding the bike over here.

I was seeking a remedy by the company people in the showroom only but got badly dissapointed and had to choose this way to get the matter to the company's attentation. Kindly provide me with the suitable remedy as soon as possible.

FZ's rims are really of poor quality and the same happened to me. First time I accepted their claim of accidental damage and claimed insurance for it. But it happened to me again, within one month of replacing the rim with a new one. The front rim also bent.

I'm filing a case against Yamaha in the consumer forum. You can join in or file a case of your own. Anyways this article would help me in negating their claim that "no complaints are received about rims".

Yamaha / Fz16 — Bad service and business loss

As i visted many time at yahama service station in Panchkul regarding by FZ 16 bike service
every time i visted they do check it properly

at this time I refused to take delivery of the vehicle and said to make it ready and will take it once the bike is completely serviced. Till today i keep on calling service dept for the status and no service mechanics doesnt know the status and they say that they will call me and inform me the status.

Even after speaking to the owner of the showroom who promised me that he will arrange the spare and get it done. Till today my vehicle is with the dealer and not yet ready.

Am much worried about the status.

i've purchased a yamaha fz16 on august, but during an accident i lost my front wheel bush, when am asking at the showroom they sent the company not giving them the parts ...what shame for such a company...nw fz16 is a headache for me...i will not propose this for nobody...
i have purchased yamaha fz16 on 26 june09.. from the beginning there was sound from front disc, i went to dealer, they told me to change the brake shoe..after 2 days same problem occured, , , , , , , and more the bike always punctures

Hi, im Pranjal and i have had the same problem within 3 months...the front rim cracked...but i dont know what they are going 2 say about it! on the phone they are already talking about claiming insurance which is bad bcoz the warranty should cover it..
what is the recomended step?
I also suffer from same problem.
Modern day Cars come with pedestrian safety, in which the front of the Car is designed such that in case of an impact, the pedestrian won't be hurt gravely.

Similarly, Yamaha's alloy wheels are rigid upto a point. Post which they bend/break easily and take the impact in case of a crash.
yes in 8 days my rear tyre puncture. worst bike in india ever

i ride just 1km.. but speedometer goes up 5 km..

I purchased yamaha alpha, today, When they delivering the vehicle i noticed that the scooter already cover 44km.. After delivery of vehicle i ridden just 1 km, i found that speedo meter reading goes up 49 km... What did'nt here..
