My self Ramana, I don’t know whether Yamaha people will take any step against these complaints or not. I am writing this complaint becoz no other customer should undergo with a problem which I have faced. When I first saw the vehicle FZ16 in the ads I loved that vehicle like anything. I became mad about that vehicle. One day my wife has gifted me with that FZ16 vehicle on 24/07/2009. It was a surprise gift for me. She went to the showroom Venkatesha Motors and asked for black color but was not available. But one person named Sharat in Venkatesha motors suggested my wife to take the display vehicle which was black color. My wife has asked Sharat it is a display vehicle it was not looking that new. But Sharat told my wife that becoz it is a display vehicle it was not looking new, he said everything he will be taking care. My wife wants to gift me the vehicle on that day at any cost, becoz it was very special day for us. She kept the vehicle in my office with the help of my friends, and she packed the key in a box and sent it to me. When I came down I was a very surprised by seeing that, the vehicle which I love the most and my better-half has gifted me, made me so surprised and I was very happy on it.

That was the last day when I was happy from the date of my purchase of that vechicle. On the next day when I was about go to the office on my vehicle I saw that Oil was leaking out from the engine continuously as drop by drop. I was shocked to see that. First I thought it was chain oil, but later when I went to the office I saw that it was increasing and some sought of burning smell was coming out from the engine. Immediately I took the vehicle to Venkatesha motors. Then I went to Sharat and asked him, what is this happening with my vehicle? Then he said that some oil seal is broken that’s why the problem has occurred. I thought ok fine some mistake has happened with the mechanic. He kept the vehicle for 1.5 day and gave it to me saying that problem is solved. Fine I took the vehicle on second day and went back to my home.

Next day I was coming to the office on my vehicle, burning smell was coming out severely from my engine, I stopped the vehicle immediately and when I looked at the engine again the same problem, this time it was some more serious oil was leaking from the engine continuously. I felt very disturbed, anger & disappointed when I saw that. I called up to Sharat and told him that the same problem is repeating. He has asked me to bring the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the showroom workshop. I told Sharat that I don’t want the vehicle becoz you sold me a defected vehicle. He said that it cannot be done at any cost; vehicle will not be replaced once sold. I spoke to him for 1 hour on this but nothing was looking fair on his part. He has promised me that he will solve the problem at any cost and also promised that in future there will not be any problem with your vehicle. I spoke to the Service Engineer Mr.Satyanarayana also, asked him why this problem has occurred, He said that the mechanic has not done perfectly last time it was our fault, " It was our fault that mechanic has not done properly, this time I will personally look into this and solve it and will see that in future u will not face any kind of problem." I have again asked him to replace the vehicle. But Mr.Satyanarayana has also refused to do that.

Fine I told Sharat that it was my wife's gift this kind of issues are making us to face mental agony. But he is not at all bothered or took it as serious issue. Sharat says that “if you are interested get your vehicle repaired get it done or otherwise do what ever you want, I have seen many people like you. If you want to file a case you do that, I know what to do. Even I can do more; I have many big shots to solve this if it becomes that serious." If a showroom person is speaking in this way what should I do, I was helpless if I go to the court he is a popular rich person he has money he can do anything, and we don’t whether the case will be solved or not, becoz our laws are like that. The man who has money will win. I am a normal middle class person going to work and coming back in the evening. I can’t afford more expenses.

In this country customer doesn’t has any value. I gave the vehicle on approximate date 28.07.09 and he kept the vehicle for 1 week saying that vehicle is under observation so we are in the process we will do it. He kept the vehicle for one week. Show room people are not even informed me that when they are going to give the vehicle. Mr.Satyanarayana was saying that we will get back to you. Till 1 week I didn’t get a call. I felt these will not do anything, so I have called up to the workshop and to Sharat also, they told me u can come and take your vehicle tomorrow. Fine I went to the workshop and spoke to Sharat and Satyanarayana that if the same problem occurs what will you do, he said many times and even he has promised that at any cost, you will not have any problem with your vehicle in future. I said if the problem repeats things will not be good and you have to replace the vehicle. He said, that is impossible. First of all u will not have any problem, i[censored] face any problem we will rectify and give it but at any cost we are not going to replace the vehicle, who ever it may be. It is Yamaha company rule that we are not supposed to replace the vehicle.

I took the vehicle and came back I and my wife were not that happy of that new vehicle. After 3 to 4 days a new sound from the engine has started and burning smell was coming out. I took the vehicle to the Yamaha workshop mechanic, he said it is a general tapping sound, engine cannot be opened at this moment becoz it is new engine. He told me to use for 2 or 3 months after that we will rectify it and also he said that nothing is serious problem it is general. Fine I agreed to him becoz mechanic knows more than me. I went back to home. After 3 months at approx 2100 kilometers I went back to the workshop and said the taping problem is increasing then he said it is only just 2000 kilometers he asked me to come at 3000 kilometers, I think the mechanic name was Ahmed I am not that sure.

Fine after few days I took my vehicle on 17/12/2009 at 3000 kilometers, he said we will not do your 2 free service we will go for 3rd free service, I got angry I said that it was you who sent me back when I have come 2 times. It was your problem that u sent me back. Finally after big argument and with the help of Mr.Maruthi they took for 2nd service. I told him that tapping sound is increasing and burning smell is coming out of the engine. Fine he said we will look into this. He said he will deliver my vehicle on 18.12.09. When I went to the workshop on 18.12.09 he said your vehicle is not yet done it has some problem it is under observation. I spoke to Satyanarayana regarding the problem he said Oil was not pumping into the engine properly and some oil seal is defected. The engine temperature is also high so we kept it for observation. Satyanarayana has asked me to come on next day i.e. on 19.12.09. Fine I have called him on 19.12.09 and asked about my vehicle status, he said some Oil Seal is defected or is broken we have to get the part from the head office. It is not available in the workshop now. He said you have to wait till the part comes and it will take 2 days more. Fine I went back.

I was totally very disappointed with my vehicle and even Yamaha service people. There is no commitment at all; they are just making money not service. I called up Sharat on 25.12.09 and asked him that you have promised me that my vehicle will not have any problem in future. But again my vehicle is with you what is this? He says that I don’t know about this, I will look into this matter, and get back to you. Becoz I have fed up with all this I asked Sharat to take my vehicle back and what ever money I will get for my vehicle with that I will add some more and I will take new one. Then the great service person Sharat has given me an offer that he will pay 40,000 bugs for that vehicle. See how hurting is that situation. Sharat is one of the Partners of that Venkatesha Motors. If these kind of buggers start doing business no one will ever dares to buy anything from the market. When I heard that word 40,000 bugs I was shocked, I just felt there were tears in my eyes, how easily this bugger is hurting me. The moment I thought no other person should face this kind of problem with this kind of buggers. I just said thanks for your advice.

Finally on 28/12/2009 Mr.Satyanarayana has called me and said, sir your vehicle is ready you can take home. I went to the workshop and took my vehicle and felt that god everything should be fine. But that day it was fine. Next day I found that some new problem, i.e. a noise like if when Silencer breaks down and some sound like when choke is on, and the same burning smell was coming out of the engine. And the pickup of the vehicle is that worse that no one will believe that this vehicle has been serviced just now.

I called up Satyanarayana and asked him in the morning that what is this, you have kept the vehicle for more than 1 week what is that you people have done. I told the problem which I have faced, and even I said the same burning smell is there, he says, that particular problem is with every vehicle. Yamaha people are working on it. He said it is nothing it will be solved when you use the vehicle for few days. He says we have changed something new in that so the sound is something new. It will change when you use for few days. By saying this statement he has just cut down my phone line. I don’t know what I should do with these people. They are not even taking it serious that these many times if a vehicle is coming to the workshop then they should take it as challenging task and do it.

I think the total Yamaha Company is cheating the customers they are just there to make money. I don’t know what I should do with this people. The mental agony I am undergoing is not measurable. I am just fed up with this people. Can anyone help me out of this?

I request all the Hyderabad people not to go to this particular Venkatesha Motors which is at Rajbhavan Road Show Room. This is worst showroom I have ever seen. And especially Sharat never believe this person. What ever he says is big trash. I have never seen this type of person who cheats the customers like this. I don’t know why Yamaha company gives franchise to this kind of people. I am totally vexed with this issue, the moment when we are about to purchase the vehicle the show room person gives us 101 promises but after purchasing the vehicle never ever they keep the promises.

the same problem my bike is suffering i asked mechanic said that bike has a small silencer thats whay u r facing this problem one more thing that smart mechanic of yamaha said "soil" is burning thats why u r facing burning smell .i have no idea what yamaha is thinking buy selling this "burning vehicles"
The smell comes from my bike too.

Im very disturbed with your situation and the torture you have gone through, because i have gone through the same torture buy buying a YAMAHA bike...
Even i am from a mlower-middle class family and cannot afford such prolems and expences but i have got my MONEY BACK after bringing HELL to their SHOWROOM...
Please draft and print a formal letter to YAMAHA Head Office and send it buy REGISTERED POST. Refer to Motor Vehicle Act of 1986 and inform them that if you want ur entire amount REFUNDED, because NO motor vehicle company will REPLACE the vehicle but they WILL REFUND you the amount.
And the malpractice of SELLING the bike to the showroom delaer for 40, 000 will be HIS profit as that vehicle will be used as a TEST RIDE vehicle and will not be accepted by the company, he is doing a malpratice technique, please do not encourage such things.
Draft all your problems in a chronogical order and send it by REGISTERED POST from your POST OFFICE and wait for 15 Days.
Also acquire the contact no. of your nearest consumer court adviser and take guidelines, he will tell you the entire procedure including the one that i have spoke about.
NO MATTER who that dealer is or how ever RICH he is its your money and you will get justice...
Put them in the CONSUMERCOURT and sue them for MENTAL HARRASMENT and TORTURE.
You alone will be victorious.
Its never too late to get justice.
Im narrating to you all these steps because i have faced this problem not ONCE but TWICE and hence im very well acquainted wit the malpractices performed buy many bike manufacturers.

You can procure all the addresses of the YAMAHA Head/Regional Offices from your SERVICE MANUAL Booklet...
I'm also having such problems.. but not severe as yours, but i' ve noticed one thing that, these Yamaha service providing people are well trained and knows how to tackle the customers,
once i was 4 or 5 days late to give the bike for the 3rd free service then the service manger told me that "you are late for availing 3rd service we can only do 4th", I asked them why they are skipping the service by the name of 4 or 5 days.
then manager told me that they cant enter the info about my bike into the system (system wont take ). Then unknowingly i agreed for his comments and gave the bike for the 4th free service. but i told him please do the needful service on the bike no matter how much cost it takes, i asked him to replace the needed components and he estimated around 1600 something.

the complaints i told him was ( a weird noise from rear while riding (not brakes), gear shifting difficulty, engine noise, over heat(after running couple of Km) low pick up, and clutch. i also asked him to change the clutch plates if needed. ultimately i wanted my bike in good condition. he agreed for that and i went back to my office.

in the evening i went at service center for the bike. and the manager asked me to pay the bill. The bill was only 500rs.. i asked him why its too low, because he estimated me around 1600. i asked him for explanation. he told all the problem was because of the "air filter", he cleaned it up and everything is ok.and he only changed the engine oil and my bike was ready to go. "ALL THE PROBLEMS I TOLD HIM WAS BECAUSE OF AIRFILTER" . then i asked him if the problems persists what should i do. he told me to bring back the bike that they can sort it out, he was like compelling me to take my bike and leave the place since it was their closing time 6.45pm. and i left there for the day.

The problems was still on my bike and i again went back to the same service center. that manager went for leave, but his subordinate took bike from me and i compelled him to replace the things to be changed(brake pads, gear shiftor ), later i charged (labor charges) for the replacements they have done.

I finally understood that free service means some procedure of cleaning the dust on the bike. According to the money we are giving they'll take it serious. and you must be a mechanic to keep your bike in good shape. And i read in the manual that " if we miss one service we are not eligible of any warranty of Yamaha". so i'm completely pissed off..

"did i pay for the product & after service?"

still having over heated engine, noise from rear, clutch gear problem.( i came to know these are common prob for Yamaha FZ16, but i'm researching for the remedy, i cant depend on the service centers anymore).
