I am writing to make a complaint. I was completely disappointed for the second time with your branch manager - Ratna – Vijayanagar Branch, Mysore.
I’m really disappointed with this kind of experience that one has to go thru’ for being a loyal NRI customer of the Bank.
Let me explain my ordeal in detail.
Last week, I went to your Vijayanagar I stage 10th cross branch, Mysore and I requested Ratna-Branch Manager to discount/Purchase my NRI Check/Cheque,
a) She was not aware of the procedure as to how to go about it. I did tell her to contact Forex department in Mumbai. Which she never did.
b) She said she will find out get back to me that she never got back to me. I had told her to find out from the FOREX branch as to how many days it will take to clear the normal Check/Cheque deposit. Because of my prior experience I wanted to know how many days it will to clear the NRI Check/Cheque. She had no convincing answer for the same.
c) For discounting/Purchase of Check/Cheque, I had to explain the procedure as to how to go about told her that she will have to print a form, the same will have to by signed by manager along with my Check/Cheque forward the same to FOREX –Mumbai
d) She complained that the printer is not in working condition am I responsible?
e) She said there is change in the procedure. I told her less than a month ago I had discounted another NRI Check/Cheque. Either she doesn’t know or don’t want to do it and she was trying to dodge me over this issue.
f) I told her to get back to me the same day. She never bothered to do the same and even the next day Saturday also she never got back
g) I called her on Monday. She was not there and Tuesday also no response from the manager
h) I called her on Wednesday asked about the response. She mentioned that she has no rights to purchase/discount the NRI Check/Cheque. I did tell her I already discounted 2 Check/Cheques prior to her arrival in the previous month. How this can happen.
i) She also mentioned to me to deposit the Check/Cheque in normal way which will take more than 45 days. Even my previous problem has not been resolved. Which I had bought to her notice. I’m attaching email regarding the same.
j) I wanted money due to a family emergency.
k) There is not even an apology for the lackadaisical approach of the Manager.
l) Kindly let me know who I can escalate this issue and then she did not respond to the same. She was asking to get it done through other banks.
Kindly find email exchange of my previous email with the same Manager. I don’t even have a response for the deposit of Check/Cheju. Why it took more than 45 days. I had asked what the norm is and what the deviation is. Why the delay. I still don’t even have a reply. I don’t even have any favorable response for my previous email. Email correspondence is attached for your reference.
I don’t even have a resolution for the current situation as well. Even if there is a change in procedure the same need to be informed. There is lackadaisical approach in this regard. I had opened an NRI account with the insistence of Prior Manager as it was close to my house. I did not expect such behavior from the successive Manager.
You will definitely take some action to educate your employee on behavior with customers which will prevent the loss of your business in future.
As I am sure that sitting on such a higher position in your organization, you must be concerned about the image of your bank, I believe I have done the right thing by passing on this information to you.
