Delhi Transport Corporation [DTC] — Complaint- unprofessional ,rude & unethical behaviour and fraud done by dtc staff

Dear dtc management,

this is vinay kumar singh( a law abiding citizen of india).

It gives me extreme pain and distress to write this letter to you after being facing despicable & embrassing situation while travelling in dtc bus (incident given below for your kind reference) .

Yesterday i.E. On 27/10/23, i was travelling in route no 392 dhaula kuan (dtc bus no 9891) at 8:30 am morning from noida sector 22 bus stop to noida sector 62 for my office.

While i was paying fare for my ride in cash rs 100/- to the conductor but he refused to take it and didn’t gave me ticket as he was not having change.

Thereafter, i asked him that then what is the solution for paying fare amount.

Then he told me to pay online for ticket so i asked him for the qr code (paytm/phonepay) for payment, but he replied very arrongantly that " पहली बार बस में चढ़ा है क्या” ?

i was very shocked to hear this statement as these people are public servants and should have ettiquettes while talking to customers.

This type of callous and vernaculous attitude was not at all acceptable by a respectful citizen like me.

I was very stunned that how dare the dtc employees/conductor was to use such language and his vernaculous attitude was really shameful in front of all passengers.

Then after multiple arguments the conductor showed the scan code and while making payment it was showing error due to which i could not make the payment.

I again told him to take cash of rs 100 and return the balance amount to which he didnt agreed.

Finally, after all this tiring efforts i thought of checking for some change (coins) in my wallet and gave to conductor, suddenly at that same time 3 checkers entered in bus and told me that “now why are you taking ticket after seeing us” ?

then i explained the whole incident to all the checkers and told them to ask conductor about the same.

But to my surprise both conductor and checker behaved very badly and spoke in a very vernaculous tone to me and then finally levied rs 200/- fine on me “for travelling without ticket” and told me to get down of bus due to which i felt very bad and was embrassed in front of all passengers and then i departed from bus.

The conductor didnt even told once and explained the situation to checker that he didnt have change and there was issue in online payment due to which he didnt gave me ticket.

The checker has levied fine on me without any fault by me and both spoke rudely to me. I dont know how many times these people spoke rudely to public commuters travelling in dtc bus.

Now in this case, if we travel in dtc bus i think that we have to pay fare also and then lose our respect and dignity in front of all passengers.

Then why dtc hire such people who doesnt have any ettiquettes of talking to passengers travelling in bus ?

i think there should be a proper training on behaviour and ettiquttes for all dtc employees on how to behave with passengers like us who are travelling everyday in dtc bus.

Would appreciate if dtc senior management could take some action against such employee's as due to such employee's we passengers have to face trouble and are humiliated in front of all passengers.

Now after this incident i feel that whenever any passenger wants to travel in dtc bus, even after paying fare, they have to lose their dignity, respect and will be humiliated in front of all.

I would now request everyone not to travel in dtc bus as this can also happen to anyone and would suggest to travel in private auto, rickshaw, metro, private cab etc but dont ever travel in dtc bus by mistake.

If we passengers didnt take ticket then we have to pay fine, this is the rule of dtc.

But what is the rule and penalty system if the dtc workers behaves badly and rudely with passengers even if there is no fault of passsenger and if both checker and conductor frame innocent passenger.

They levy fine by misusing the power and authority that government has given them to use in a right way then what action is to be taken against them, this should be mentioned in dtc manuals and complaint register should be there in the bus so that we can raise a formal complain against these type o[censored]nprofessional dtc workers.

Are these rules and regulations only for passengers or public ?

are there no rules or penalty for dtc workers who abuses their power and authority at every instance ?

i think that bus would have camera installed in it in which i was travelling, would appreciate if you can check the cctv footage that i have tried to pay fare in cash when i entered the bus and the conductor refused to take the cash as he didnt have the change and then didnt gave me ticket.

Would appreciate if a written apology letter is signed by them for their wrongful acts so that this is not repeated in near future and also other dtc employees will take this as a lesson for not behaving in such a vernaculous and rude manner with passengers/public.

I would urge to dtc senior management to kindly take the necessary action against both the checker and conductor for their rude behaviour, arrongance and misuse of power and authority given by government.

In anticipation of necessary and prompt action.

Enclosed here with a copy of traffic fine.

Yours truly

a law abiding and respectful citizen of india

vinay kumar singh
