Dr. Annapurna Pathak — unethical and unprofessional doctor

One would be highly unfortunate to come across a doctor like her during the most beautiful phase of ones life (Pregnancy). She is highly unprofessional and passes very personal remarks in her interactions with the patient. Every single time i would share my condition with her (She being my doc), she would rebuke and blame me for the same, saying that now a days girls don’t know how to be a mother, scaring me by giving all the negative possibilities about the baby. She didnt check me properly in the hospital nor consulted me or my family before giving me general anesthesia (Spinal anesthesia being more prevalent) for the delivery. On being questioned about that by my husband, she didn’t consider it important to answer and said, ’i am the doc and i know best what to give’ and ‘i was more comfortable with general anesthesia’. Basically she didn’t have one good reason for doing so. Her rude remarks while i was at the hospital and even in the follow up visit was a harassment and really disturbing for me. When i shared with her that my milk wasn’t coming (To breast feed the baby), she commented that i am not the types to feed a baby and that no wonder it’s not coming. This was an extremely personal and hurtful remark that could be made to a mother. When i shared about my pain (In the cut) with her, she said i shud just focus on the baby and not crib about my condition. I was told by the rmo of bhagirathi neotia hospital that my condition is favorable for a normal delivery, but this lady viciously pushed me and scared my family into agreeing for a c section. There are too many things to be written out here. I am sharing my experience (Worst) so that no other lady goes thru such an experience ever again. Please be careful of such unethical doctors, choose your doctors wisely and change your doctor immediately in case you’re not satisfied with them (We were too naive and didn’t think of doing that).
