On ET money platform, I have used the Free Trail of Genius Subscription from 18/10/2022, and the end date for the same was 16/12/2022. Without using any of their services after the end date, I tried to cancel the membership through app. I could not cancel the subscription without paying for the 3 months for the subscription which I do not want to use anymore. Attachment-1 contains the mail communication for the same. After some time, 747 rupees were deducted from my bank account. Customer care representative from ET money informed that they were unable to cancel the transaction initiated through Easy Pay for the Genius membership as the same gets processed from your bank branch itself. On the reply to that, I asked for the refund for which they refused. This way ET money is forcing us to use their product against our will. I also fell in ETMONEY's trap. In Aug, 23 I took 3 months Genius subscription for Rs. 147/- which ended recently. Recently, I saw deduction of Rs 747/- from my bank account through EasyPay. When I asked ETMONEY, they informed that it was mentioned in T&C that it shall be auto-renewed after 3 months for Rs 747/-. Ideally, they should have sent an SMS and Email 7-10 days in advance and taken my consent, but it seems that the company is cheating the people this way by misusing our One Time Mandate. This mandate we had given for SIP installment and not for these forced deductions. We should raise the complaint to National Helpline for redressal. I have cancelled my membership immediately. If you want to cancel, go to ETMONEY app login, click on your icom at Top-left corner, click Genius membership, click on the 3 dots at top-right corner, and opt for Cancel the membership.
