Golds Gym India — Gold's India - Mulund Branch - Denial to extend membership & refund

Hi Sir/Madam,

I had taken membership in Gold’s Gym – Mulund Branch ( Mumbai, India) on 8th October 2019. However due to the pandemic the gym closed in later half of March 2020 & opening again from tomorrow ie 25th October 2020. The main issue here is the management is insisting the members to renew their membership in order to get the benefit for the months lost due to pandemic. And if someone chooses not to renew then they are not allowed to enter the gym.

So in short I have paid you 18, 000 for just 3-4 months? Since the gym was a new setup, it was fully operational from December only. This is what we should expect from a brand like this? I don’t see any values or ethics in this brand if this is a collective decision from the top management.

If you are going to give me reason of losses due to pandemic, the gym subscribers have had their part of losses too due to this pandemic. This Is not an accepted way of handling clients from a respected brand like you. If you cannot extend the membership then issue a refund for the pandemic period.
