Google India / Tez — google's most expensive phone in total loss. google taking no responsibility in-spite of being under warranty. | |||
This is in regards to my google phone, pixel 2xl which was sent for repair. Its a 8 month old phone and and still very much under warranty. The phone is ip67 certified which means it can withstand submerging the device upto 1 mtr of water till 30 mins. I had the phone in my pocket while it was raining and i was shocked to see that a phone that was supposed to totally withstand such splashes had got water inside. Nowhere does google mention while purchasing the device that water damage will not be covered under warranty. All they do is advertise their water resistant features/certifications which in my case has totally failed. When you pay 60, 000 for a phone, you go by their advertised features to have peace of mind while using it outside. You only pay more for these features. I told the same to google support, but they have totally neglected my requests for replacement. They did it before and they re doing it now. My problem is i strongly believe, google and b2x (Their authorized service partner) is responsible for what happened, as they did open my phone on a previous intsance due to another hardware fault, instead of replacing the phone. I was waiting for the quotation and i got the shock of my life when i saw a repair amount of 48278. I have rejected the service as obvious, as its almost as much as the device cost. What shocked me more is that a device rated ip67 (Water rest) could not even withstand a little water and it's a total loss now. I don't think this could happen to any other phone. History:- I have always had multiple issues with this phone. Earlier i had sent the phone with a bad fingerprint sensor which stopped working all of a sudden. The sensor was replaced and the whole back panel had to be removed and reattached. Other issues were tinted screen, huge colour shift, black smearing, unresponsive touch, heavy lag etc. I strongly believe that the ip water resistant seals were compromised because of the previous repair and that has caused the water to seep in the device. As previously (Before 1st repair) i had used the phone out in the rain many times without any issue. But after repair the first time it got wet it became total loss. This is a massive damage. I paid 60 thousand on a phone which had multiple problems throughout it's life. I even had asked for a replacement in the first instance sighting all the issues, but google rejected it saying everything will be fine after repair. I was 100% sure that once the device is opened it will not have the same factory fitting and water seals, which came out true now. Google should have replaced my device as they do it overseas. Google/ b2x is asking me 48278 for repair, which should be a joke as the device cost is somewhere around 50-55k. I dont want this device to be repaired and sent. I want them to send me replacement device for all the issue tat i have faced during the time-span with the device. Please help to assist and do the required. Was this information helpful? | |||
