Great Learning — Brutal Cheating in the name of scholarship

I am Vithya Venugopal from Chennai. I have really been cheated by Sargam who represented Upgrad in collaboration with Texas and Greatlearning and I am writing this email to get Justice.

Sargam contacted me on 22Novemeber 2022 stating she got an enquiry from me for Data Science.

She explained to me about the tie-ups, career opportunities, modules, etc.

Also I was asked to take a screening test on the same day @ 7pm IST with no other options given.

She informed me that is only screening time that is available and if missed, I will lose a plethora of benefits including scholarship where I can avail extra 6 courses at free of cost.

I was not given any time / opportunity to discuss with my family or any time decision.

The next day I was informed I have scored 8 + in the screening test, which makes me eligible for scholarship but again it has to be blocked by EOD by making a payment of Rs.30, 000 INR, including taxes.

The next day when I spoke with my parents(who were out of station), they informed me they are not ready to approve this due to financial situation and some serious personal commitments arranged in the family.

I approached Upgrad immediately, spoke to Rohith(Project Coordinator) who did the screening test for me and explained the situation, he said he will check with the panel and do the needful.

Next day he also informed me he will process the refund shortly, post which I’m following up daily and I`m unable to get any response.

I have to call from a different number to get hold of Gaurav and Rohit. Then they said they are still waiting for an update from the panel and informed don't send any emails or logs as we are checking with the panel.

Evening after calling again, Gaurav said there is no refund as per the policy .

Informed Upgrad has a policy of 100 % refund if initiated within 3 weeks.

Shared the Upgrad policy screenshot, Gaurav then said you have paid via Greatlearning and Greatlearning doesn’t do any refund.

I`m continuously asking for the policy document or the URL

They are too hesitant even to share the policy and brutally cheat students in the name of scholarship.

I didn’t join or perform any joining formalities, I informed the organization about the situation even before 24 hrs. after making the payment.

I am really stuck in the situation where I need my money back ASAP . I`m reaching out with great hope that you will help me further and I humbly request you to process the complete refund of 30K ASAP.
