HTC India — Complaint against service centre

Mr.Chandrakant L.Upadhyay, Nagpur 22, purchased android mobile being “HTC Desire 516C Dual Sim” bearing IMEI No.**********57574 from Nagpur 10 worth Rs.12, 500/- (inclusive of all taxes) on dated 20/02/15 having a warranty of One Year from the date of purchase However, for the next 5-6 months, was quite happy to use the same and to have the best of it’s use with respect to both personal as well as business purpose. However, joy was short-lived as in the month of Aug 15 the handset met with the serious problem of hanging for which duly approached the J.A SERVICES who after formatting the handset and with all care and repairs made the said handset worthy to be used. Again after the usage of The mobile, around 15-20 says later after the first repairs, one day during the working hours, noticed that the mobile handset which was kept on charging for some time was not showing any signs of functioning. Without going into the depth of the matter, I thought it better to approach J.A SERVICES who is an authorized collection centre of HTC as well as the same was within the warranty period. Hence, on dated 05/09/15, the said handset was handed into the custody of you J.A SERVICES and after all the detailed and thorough examination I was handed a HTC Care Service Report vide Ticket No.15INA[protected] & Job No.NAG[protected] with i) remark as “unit is dead” ii) cosmetic inspection “good” and iii) symptom “No power / cannot boot ; unit is dead. Thereafter, they told me that the said handset needs to be sent to the HTC service Centre at Mumbai Left with no option and also in the best interest of the dead handset being in warranty period, I agreed and thereby the same was sent to Mumbai for further management and best output. However, after 15 days of follow-up by me, I was surprised cum shocked to receive call from Service centre expressing their inability to repair the same free of cost citing reason that the said handset was damaged due to water found in it. They also forwarded a photo of the same on e-mail (after request from me to know the status of the same) thereby trying to shift the entire blame upon me and asking me to shell Rs.8196/- towards it’s repair which was also intimated in the name of repair quotation. That thereafter I immediately approached to J.A SERVICES and asking for all sort of clarification sensing foul play. It was specifically pleaded by me that how come have querried about damage due to water when no such report or observation has been noted in the service report dated 05/09/15 by J.A SERVICES apart from cosmetic inspection being good.If there is a water damage then water should be at another place also but in picture is seem like the water is drop on the board .how within 20-25 days after water is seen. Please dont buy HTC mobiles or any other product of HTC .Today it happen with me.It can be happen with you.
