HTC — My 8 month old phone on warranty given for repair FOUR times

Address:Chennai, Tamil Nadu

I bought a HTC One S (IMEI [protected]) smart phone on 12th February, 2013 from Univercell, Express Avenue, Chennai for Rs 27, 396/-.This phone worked without issues just for a few weeks from the date of purchase. Problem 1 (March 2013) Some time during March the phone was not receiving the mobile signal properly and the home screen button use to get stuck many a time. I gave it for service at the HTC Service Centre, Anna Salai, Chennai. The service centre resolved this problem by reinstalling/updating the software. Problem 2 ( September 2013) During September the problem of struck home button resurfaced along with the problem in music player. Again I gave the phone to the same service centre for repair. They claimed to have solved this problem by replacing the touch panel. But later I found the speaker of the phone was not functioning well and it was very noisy. However, considering the pain it will take for me to approach the service centre I kept using the phone. We even tweeted about the problem on 24th September for which [protected]@htc stopped giving replies. Problem 3 (November 2013) During November the LCD screen was not working and became blank. I again want to the service centre in Chennai and gave it for repair (Q2S[protected]). They solved the problem by replacing the LCD again as well as the mother board, and collected the phone from the service centre on[protected]. When I asked the service engineer, about why the phone given problems so many times even when it is new. They said all the problems as been sorted out as they have replaced the mother board and LCD. However, on the same day I found that the ON/OFF button needs to be pressed very hard to activate the screen. However, I continued to use the phone. Problem 4 (December 2013) On[protected] the phone got switched off and which could not be switched on. I handed over the phone again to the service centre, where they inspected the phone and say that the mother board to be replaced again. They have collected the phone and said it will be returned after repair in 5 days. (Q2S[protected]). So now phone in service centre again!! I am sure this is not going to solve my problem as they have replaced mother board and LCD just THREE weeks before!!! I never expected a phone from a company like HTC will develop problems SO MANY TIMES even during the warranty period. I very strongly feel that this phone has manufacturing defects and I am not at all satisfied with the repair being carried out by replacing the parts. Even after replacing the mother board and LCD, within 10 days the phone is not working. Further, each time I was asked to bring the Purchase Receipt (Original) as well as a photo copy. This is very annoying for a customer (reminds me of applying for ration card/passport). I am very sure this practice can not be followed by HTC in other countries in America and Europe. The service centre works from 10 am to 6 pm, which is highly inconvenient for the customers as at two times I need apply for LEAVE from my work place to go to the HTC service centre. Having sold me the defective phone, which is evident from the replacement of the parts 4 times within 9 months from the date of purchase and the suffering I have undergone (by visiting the service centre eight times and spent over 20 hours for this and being without phone for 16 days during service), I request the HTC to arrange for immediate replacement of my phone. Hence, I request HTC to arrange for replacement of my phone with a NEW PHONE. Thank you.
