IDBI Bank — Even you follow policies, customer service will kick you/

I recently had an extremely frustrating experience with IDBI bank. Both my wife and I had accounts with IDBI, but my wife's account was deactivated due to inactivity. Meanwhile, I was unable to withdraw money from my account, despite being able to transfer funds into it. In September 2022, I did a transaction at an ATM using my debit card, as IDBI required me to do so before my card's expiration in October 2022. However, even though I completed the transaction, IDBI never sent me a new card. When I tried to contact their customer service multiple times, they were unable to give me any clear answers or solutions. Instead, they just kept redirecting me to visit their home branch, where I was met with even more frustration.

During my visit, IDBI asked me to complete KYC procedures again, which I found ridiculous given my history as a customer. They also required my wife to visit their home branch, which is located far away from our residence. This level of inconvenience and poor customer service is unacceptable. I had planned to use both of my accounts for saving purposes, but given the lack of support and assistance from IDBI, I have decided to close both accounts with them.

In comparison to HDFC and ICICI, IDBI's services are subpar. I strongly recommend avoiding IDBI bank at all costs. Their inability to solve customer problems and their tendency to bounce customers back and forth is unacceptable. Overall, IDBI bank has proven to be the worst banking experience I have ever had. I urge anyone considering banking with IDBI to reconsider and find a better option that prioritizes customer satisfaction and support.
