[Resolved]  Indusind Bank — Debited penalty for non maintenance of account balance without any notification

Dear Concern,

Today, i was just shocked after seeing my wife's account (previously salary account) statement after long time. There was sequentially debit with description "To non maintenance charge Mar 2016" from March 2016 till Dec 16 as on current date.
Followings are the debit made by Indusind bank
To non maintenance charges MAR 2016 - 444.68
To non maintenance charges Apr 2016- 329.72
To non maintenance charges May 2016- 293.81
To non maintenance charges Jun 2016- 326.89
To non maintenance charges Jul 2016- 347.93
To non maintenance charges Aug 2016- 359.88
To non maintenance charges SEp 2016- 388.58
To non maintenance charges OCT 2016-407.92
To non maintenance charges Nov 2016-424.64
To non maintenance charges Dec 2016-449.74

I would like to loudly speak that these all amount was debited with out any notification from bank by either e-mail, telephone or SMS.

Dear Indusind bank personnel, these all were hard earned money. How could you levy the penalty without notification to the customer. Today after several months when i have checked account statement through net banking than i have come to know about such hilarious debits...honestly i did not know about this rule that after leaving the job one has to maintain such (10000) minimum balance. If i could be informed about this prior to deducting the penalty i could manage the account balance.

Nearly 75 e-mail i could retrieve today from my spam folder of my registered e-mail address with the indus ind bank. All 75 emails from indusind bank were for loan, attractive offers, republic day wishes, Christmas wishes, about mobile app etc etc...but they did not inform me via a single e-mail for such penalty prior to debit...

Also as per RBI circular "DBR No.Leg.BC.21/09.07.006/2015-16 ", section 5.4.1 (Levy of Penal Charges on Non-Maintenance of Minimum balance in savings bank accounts)
With effect from April 1, 2015, while levying charges for non-maintenance of minimum balance in savings bank accounts, banks shall adhere to the following additionalguidelines:
(i) In the event of a default in maintenance of minimum balance / average minimum balance as agreed to between the bank and customer, the bank should notify the customer clearly by SMS / email / letter etc. that in the event of the minimum balance not being restored in the account within a month from the date of notice, penal charges will be applicable.
(ii) In case the minimum balance is not restored within a reasonable period, which shall not be less than one month from the date of notice of shortfall, penal charges may be recovered under intimation to the account holder.

Indusind Bank debited penalty for non maintenance of account balance without complying above mentioned RBI policy points.

I am very disappointed...i wish Indusind bank would credit all my debited such charges as mentioned above...or else on immediate basis i want to close my account from your bank and would never suggest any one for association with such a customer harassing bank.

IndusInd bank personnel are not addressing concern satisfactorily. Despite 3 to 4 times complaints (Including on this platform), bank people have not given any justification for non compliance to following RBI circular:

They are telling only one thing that salary account has been converted to saving and as per schedule of charges (SOC) penalty was charged. But my concern is why i was not informed prior to deduction for non maintenance of account balance which is required as per above mentioned RBI guideline.
I will wait for satisfactorily reply from the bank and if i will not get proper response then i am going to compliant this to banking ombudsman and also report this fraud and unethical practice to TV Show Paheredar (CNBC Awaaz).
