[Resolved]  Insurance — Insurance Fraud - Big Group Involved.

I keep getting calls on my landline saying that they are from Insurance regulatory authority. They say that my insurance is on a cancelled mode and if I want can claim an amount of 1981410 (one lakh 81 thousand). I told them I dont have any info on any insurance policy. They keep collecting the data from what I tell them and use the same and call me next time. These are a group when each one acts like they are from an insurance company. They literally ask if the amount is to be cancelled. Out of greed you say no and they ask us to submit photos and other documents. When all this was going on, I asked them what was the policy number. They said that the file has come for cancellation and dont have that and if im interested. After some time another person calls and asks for a file number (which the first person gave) and reconfirms as if they are from central gov. I gave few of the details. Now they have all my personal details including my father's and mother;s name. (Which they use it again). Now, I get a doubt and say I dont have any policy. This person says that my father might have been paying. Now my father expired 5 years ago. I realized that this is BIG fraud and said I was not interested and disconnected the call. The number which they called was from [protected] (stated himself as Rajiv Gupta-Regional Area Manager). He asked me to send my details first to some address in delhi (he gave LIC, jeevan dhara, address first) then gave some other address asking me to send a check of 24000 to get the above 1981410 since I didnt have any receipts. I asked if its LIC then I get into the local branch and get the receipts. He said that its a cancelled file so he too didnt the info except for the file name. on a note, I said that I will the requested details to the address, he got relucted to give the address rather said he will ask someone to pick it from my home. Beware of this fraud. This is a big group who act very professional and get all your details. they wont even tell u which insurance they are from.They take all your details frist and use them against you. they make you feel that you or someone in the family might have insurance and give all your details. TAKE CARE and BEWARE.
