This is regarding unethical behaviour of a traffic police officer, dressed in khakhi, deployed at Old Zoo Chowk at Jaipur, on 26th March, 2023, Sunday at around 1 pm. We are residents of Dehradun and went to Jaipur as tourists on 25th March, 2023. Since our car bears Uttarakhand number, our car was stopped by a traffic police officer at old zoo chowk on 26th March, Sunday. He asked us to bring our vehicle to a side and told us to pay challan. When we asked the reason, he started shouting at us and told us that our car was standing at red light for long. We were very polite with him and told him that we are tourists, to which he answered that 80% of the people in Jaipur are tourists. He asked us for Rs 500, we asked the reason to which he said that they have the pressure of depositing Rs 7, 00, 000 to the government by 31st of March. When we asked him to give us the receipt, he refused, although he was carrying a receipt book in his hand. When we requested him to let us take the picture of the receipt atleast, he refused.
