I had boarded the jet airways flight 9w 0124 from mumbai t2 to paris de gaulle on 12th august 2017. I had a connecting flight from paris de gaulle af 1600 to madrid the same day.
The staff at the jet airways counter in mumbai checked in my luggage but did not put the bag tag. The lady at the counter did not give me the bag tag along with the boarding pass. When i reached madrid airport, i did not receive my luggage. I wrote an email on 13th august to [protected]@jetairways.com with my flight details and boarding pass.
There was no response from their end. I sent a follow up mail on 17th august 2017, and i get a reply on 20th august 2017. I found out through a friend working with jet that my bag was at the mumbai airport only and had not checked in my luggage because of the lady at the counter 'didnt do her job" of putting the bag tag. Jet had not even forwarded the mail sent by to the airport authorities to check. My senior citizen parents had to run to and fro to collect the bag at the mumbai t2 airport.
Is it not the responsibility of the airlines to put baggage tags for checked in luggage?? I was travelling alone in an unknown country and had no idea what to do next with no luggage and basic necessities to survive for my entire trip of 12 in a foreign country. I require compensation for this error by jet airlines and the mental stress that my parents and me were put through. Was this information helpful? |
