Jet Airways — missing / stolen stuff out of my luggage

To whom it may concern

This is a formal complain in regards to few stuff that got stolen out of my check in baggage.

Attached is copy of my bording passes from landon to bombay & bombay to ahmedabad.

When i collated my baggage in mumbai i found luggage belt was missing from my bag.

When i reached home i noticed that not only luggage belt but also there was £50 note was on top pocket of my black bag has got stolen and also a fit bit watch from the other bag has got stolen.

I would like to claim all these loss and would like to receive appropriate reimbursement for these loss.

Itemized costs are as below:

Luggage tag:$ 30 nzd only been used once

Currency note : £ 50 gbp which was given to me from my cousin when i was leaving uk which i put it on first pocket in hurry.

Fitbit watch $ 295 nzd just a year old

Your kind attention to this mater will highly appreciated as i would like to get this sorted before i leave india on 16th march.



This complaint was lodged on 20th february 2018 and i got reply as below:-

This is in further reference to your e mail dated february 20, 2018.

At the very outset we would like to thank you for your valuable time in communicating with us and are disappointed to note the inconvenience caused to you due to the missing items from your baggage as mentioned by you in your mail when you have traveled with jet airways.


At jet airways, it is never our intention to inconvenience our passengers. We train our loaders on how to handle passenger baggage with due care. Hence, we note your grievance with great concern and have briefed all staff and loaders to take additional precaution to ensure that we do not cause inconvenience to our valued passengers.


We also wish to inform you that passengers need to report any pilferage, of bag before leaving from airport. Since you did not report at the arrival of mumbai airport. Hence we will not be able to accept your claim.


May we request you to view this incident in isolation and not representative of our services we endeavor to offer our valued passengers.


Notwithstanding the above, we look forward to your support and continued patronage of jet airways.



My reply was to them as below:

I did inform the staff at mumbai airport about missing luggage belt but she was not concern about it at all, also in one and half hour i had to catch my next flight to mumbai airport.. Do you really think that i had time to go through all the luggage n check if everything is there? Use your common sense and advise?

I can only advise about the stuff that was visible at that time..

I did inform that staff but she was so irresponsible that did not even bother to write a complain about that missing belt and told me that she has no idea where the belt bas gone and advised me i only got about half an hour to check in for flight to ahmedabad. (Please note: at the mumbai airport they alredy had taken luggage off and put on the side for passengers travelling to ahmedabad and other domestic destination i did notice it and advise her at that time only as she was the only staff standing there.)

Your response is irrelevant to the situation and you advising me just because your staff are height trained i should have informed you before leaving the mumbai airport or any airport? While person can only tell you about stuff being damage or missed once they open the bag.
Do you really expect your customers to open the bags at the airport and advise you if everything is ok? No right?

I request you to review this incident on very serious note or else i will take this issue further.



Even after two emails i still have not received any response from jet airways.

It is really disaaponting that airlines does not even bother to look at the situation did not and contact me or investigated and reply me with the message which does not even male sense.

Kindly look in to this asap or i will have to take further step against airline.
