Jet Airways — overbooking issue

Today i had 8.10 am flight (Jet airways 9w-314) from mumbai to ahmedabad booked with jet airways which i could not take as the flight was overbooked. I had reached airport 20-25 minutes before the 45 minutes check in time. I had to stand in a huge queue to get a boarding pass. While i was standing in the queue, i requested a guy who was managing the queue that given such a big queue i may not be able to reach at the counter 45 minutes before the flight departure time to collect the boarding pass. He responded saying that you will be called and don’t worry. As the threshold of 45 minutes was coming close i jumped the queue and went to the counter and asked the lady who was manning the counter that my flight is at 8.10 am. She saw the flight seat occupancy and asked me to wait and after 10 minutes she told me that it is overbooked and gave me the following options 1.) ~9.30 am flight to baroda 2) evening flight to ahmedabad 3) refund of the current booking

Just to give some context, i was going to ahmedabad to close one deal which was time sensitive which will not happen; i had a hotel reservation for the day and a return flight to mumbai in the evening (Tickets attached).

I am caused serious hardship personally and a loss professionally.

Airlines are making lot of money by overbooking and optimizing the seats.in the process a consumer like me suffers great deal and without being suitably compensated. It is sheer apathy that an airline like jet feels that by offering the ticket refund will compensate the customer.

It’s about time we should treat indian consumer with respect

I am writing this mail to compensate me suitably for the loss caused to me as all the interlinked expenditure of mine also has gone for a waste.
