[Resolved] Karvy — aadhaar address change online request

Dear Sir, I applied for AADHAAR address update online when I changed my residence recently. I uploaded gazetted officers certificate (Chief Civil Surgeon in Tamilnadu Medical Service) on his letterhead with my photograph duly attested mentioning the change of address. As per requirement, I also self attested it. My AADHAAR No.[protected] and URN [protected]. While tracking, I noticed the message "Document Verified and approval awaited" for 3 days and a SMS arrived on the 4th day as "Rejected" with a remark "invalid document". I am surprised about the rejection as I have uploaded the prescribed document in the prescribed manner. Chief Civil Surgeon in Government service is a class 1 Gazetted Officer. I need my AADHAAR card for updation of my bank accounts, demat accounts, Ration card, Voters ID etc. When I called AADHAAR help ringing up 1947, I get the reply that their service is restricted to URN allotted by AADHAAR enrollment centre and not for one done online! I have forwarded the requisite details of my AADHAAR No, URN and the local language used in AADHAAR card. It is intriguing why there is a silence from Karvy as to why a Gazetted Officer's certification is labelled as an "invalid document", the reason given for rejéction! TG Mohan. Verified Support Jul 30, 2018 Karvy Customer Care's response Dear Sir/Madam, The letter head issued by the doctor to the resident for address correction in Aadhaar must have the details that proves that he is a Central or State Government doctor and not under any contract. Hence UIDAI would require that details on the top of the letter and not as stamp. Attached screen shots for your information. First, I would like to thank Karvy for their courtesy of replying to my complaint. It is nice of them. They have mentioned that the doctor who had certified my residential address should be in the employment of either central or state govt and this should be evident in their letter head. Fair enough. The doctor's certificate I had got in doctor's letter head specifies that he is a Senior Civil Surgeon in Tamilnadu Medical Service. The doctors are subject to frequent transfer and postings to various medical hospitals and everyone is aware of this. The fact that he is in Tamilnadu Medical Service as a Senior Civil Surgeon should have given sufficient indication that he is in State Government service gazetted officer.

Anyway, I appreciate the response from Karvy though not fully satisfied about their decision to reject my application. In the meanwhile, I have got my bank passbook updated with my new address and again applied for AADHAAR address change based on this document.

Thanks to customer complaint forum and Karvy for addressing my problem. With this, can I say that my complaint is resolved though the resolution has come about adopting a different path. Thanks again. TG Mohan.
