Kidzee School — Manhandling and verbal abuse by teacher.

Today, 18.3.2024, my child, aged 4 years, a nursery student at Kidzee, Baihata Chariali, Assam, was man-handled (slapped hard twice at his back), verbally abused (telling him that he is a gangster, a don and son of a №№№) threatened that she will send him to police, and then punnished (kept him kneel down at the corner of his classroom for more than half an hour) by his class teacher. My child was crying the whole time. And his fault was that he threw a bottle at one his classmate and that child took a hit at his upper lip resulting into pain and swelling. There was no one in the classroom, when the incident took place. School immediately call his parents but nobody bothered to inform us. Instead the class teacher took a full blown military action upon a toddler. My child was very sCAREd and was wailing when we reached school to fetch him.

On one hand I am very thankful for your prompt reply, on the other hand I am disgusted at the way the school authority (kidzee, Baihata Chariali, Assam) has been showing an extremely laid back attitude regarding the matter. After 3 days of the alleged incident of child abuse, i.e. today, they agreed to meet us (after our repeated requests) and in the meeting they not only failed to acknowledge their lapse in management and recruitment of an unfit person as a nursery teacher; but they affirm repeatedly that beating, punishing and humiliating preschoolers is very much necessary and correct way of schooling them. This brings their "bully mentality" to the lime light. Also they insisted that we should take our ward out of the school, which is direct violation of "right to education" of the child.
As because, the school authority is knowingly protecting the perpetrator (Ms. Elly Devi) and supporting all kinds of abuse done by her against the little kids studing there (nursery class), I am afraid that the school is turning into a crime ground for some more heinous incident in the comming future, if effective measures are not taken quickly.
Please do the needful as early as possible.
