My father Mr.Hasmukh.Mansukh.Shah (patient Id KH [protected]) was admitted on 9th april in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital (andheri west in mumbai ) under nephrologist doctor shruti.tapiawala and only got discharged on 29th april ( 20DAYS ) when he expired on 1st may morning.
The reason for initiating this complaint is only to save other patients in future who could face the same trauma we faced because of your inhuman doctor. We had greatest hopes from ambani hospital though which is compromised now.
Kindly refer pointwise below where HER will mean nephrologist doctor shruti tapiawala and HIM will mean my father .
1- During one of the dialysis she inspected him and adviced him to EXERCISE in between dialysis while dialysis was going on to become better fast.
2- From Day 1 she only gave him life threatening advices same as terrorists that you will never live long if not continued with her advice treatment.
3- In all this time she never encouraged him even once. Only used depressing and negative words. Never informed him for any clinical improvement measured during the thousands of tests she did to him. Her talking style is very very ugly and without any enthusiasm to make him feel better with always high tone . Never willing-fully talked with me or my uncles / relatives who followed up to understand his condition without any satisfactory answers to any of our queries.
4- Gave totally wrong information to other consultant doctors. Eg - She told urologist Dr. Ismail that after removing urine catheter for first time in icu in morning till evening he never urinated naturally. On the contrary the catheter was removed at 12.30pm (icu visiting hours when i visited him) and he urinated by calling for urine pot at 1.45 pm. The sister than insisted him to urinate again on her advice at 2.15 pm. His water intake was already restricted and we dont understand that in such small time how will he urinate again. So the catheter was again put. On 28th april the catheter was removed again to prevent any urine infection when again she adviced dr.ismail(urologist) to put it back again as the patient is not capable at all to urinate naturally . again the fact was he urinated by calling urine pot with natural feeling and we made the sister to note the quantity for atleast 4 times until night. Mr.Ismail inspected again and talked with him so kindly and in a soothing way and there itself instructed to restrict the catheter furthermore.
5- The patients need to sleep at night to feel healthy. She instructed the nurses to monitor his Blood pressure EVERY HOUR at night. Because of this he couldnt sleep at all at night which i had told sisters to stop . Even if somebody would keep on poking me at night at 1pm and 2pm and 3pm, , my BP would also rise and so did his.hence he slept in day time when she again pointed that he is sleeping in day because his medical condition is getting bad.
6- She didnt have any doctor etiquettes even with her assistants, rmo and sisters who actually feared to talk anything because of her threats of expelling them from job.
7- My father was absolutely fit from last 6 years with ayurvedic medicine which we informed her as a virtue. This she hated and regularly told us that indian medicine sciences
were just waste and we should only listen to her. From 19th april she has not disclosed to us the creatinine report after continuously following up as his main illness was shooting up of level
of creatinine to 12.
We salute and appreciate other doctors for their excellent treatment viz, Dr.Prashant.Borade (lung specialist), Dr.Tannu (infection specialist), Dr.Ismail (urologist),
Dr.Reshma (physiotherapist) . Also the rmo, assistant doctors and nurses have been very kindful throught the hospital stay with their assistance.
8- In the discharge summary she mentioned that he had diabetes from past 5 years which he didnt have at reals and because of this my mediclaim reimbursement is cancelled.
9- Dr.Shruti was wanting all the diagnosis of my dad aged 62years to match the reports of an 18
year old young boy as all perfect which is practically impossible.
I have lost my father now and that is our destiny and we dont blame anyone for that. But we are raising our voice to bring such issue in front of your management and hopefully that in future no other patient's relatives will suffer because of such mentally ill and sick behaviour of Dr.Shruti.Tapiawala. People see ambani name as a goodwill which is fully
ruined because of her. Above all a Doctor is supposed to be kind enough and human to understand the patient's illness and not become a devil to discourage and depress the patient.
