Sir,
Self is a bonafide member of border security force. I went tamil nadu through my personal car bearing regn no. Tn 34 z 1926 for official purpose on 11.08.2017. Despite producing the official letter with bsf identity card, amount of rs.85/- levied to me vide transaction no.[protected]/operator id 700166 at lane no.004, vice-versa transaction no.[protected] dated 15 aug 2017/operator id 700166 lane number 010. The govt of india ministry of road transport & highways transport bhawan, 1, parliament street, new delhi 110001 vide their om no. H-39011/21/2015- (Toll) vol-ii dated 24 may 2017 which was signed by shri umesh chandra joshi, superintending engineer (Toll) tele no.[protected], clearly indicated under the captioned of subject "national highway toll free exemption for capf personnel", addressed to shri raman kumar, under secretary, room no.171-c, police division-ii, resettlement & welfare directorate, ministry of home affairs, north block new delhi -110001 that "it is to inform that as per national highways fee (Determination of rates and collection) rules, 2008, as amended, exemption available only to the mechanical vehicle used for official purposes. Exemption from payment o[censored]ser fee shall be applicable upon production of such documents that certified and authorizes the vehicle-in-charge for official purposes. However, no exemption is available on use of personal vehicle, if it is not used for any official purpose".
It is regret to intimate that the operator of the lane is not being heeded anything and they simply replied that bsf is not applicable.
Hence, it is requested to advise the operator of all lane to follow the instructions of above letter in true spirit and the bsf person poceeding on official purposes through their personal vehicle may please be permitted without toll charges. However, copy of same letter will be produced by me as and when visit next trip please. I also contacted mr siva kumar, the maintenance manager over mobile no.[protected] on 21 aug 2017 to inform the same. Unfortunately, he did not attend the same
