I am staying in Vaniyath Lane, near to Decent Junction on the road from Poojappura to Mudavanmukal. Ours is a slightly elevated area and the land further forms a slope and then forms into a low lying area. We have not received even a single drop of water for the past 4 days. This comes under Karamana section. On enquiry with the Assistant Engineer he said that there is shortage of water and we have to adjust for a month. We are ready to adjust, but we cannot live 'without' water at all. AE said that since they get water at low pressure now, it is difficult to pump to elevated areas? But we found that many areas within the Corporation are receiving water 24x7 even now (For eg: Vattiyoorkavu). Isn't it possible to divert water from such areas to these places where more pressure is required for atleast 1 or 2 hours at day/night daily? As KWA is also aspiring to be a part of Smart City program, kindly ensure to place wise management measures in place rather than lamenting on age old practices.
