I have been addressed a house tax bill for the above house amounting to Rs. 1, 54, 869 which includes an interest of Rs. 73106.90 over the arrears of Rs. 76361.67 and current year charges of Rs. 5400.

I left India in July 2003 and have been living in Houston (USA) since then. The house was looked after by my caretaker. He died last month due to COVID 19. His son informed me of his demise. I googled the house tax Lucknow Nagar Nigam and found out about the pending house tax.
I understand as house owner I should have been proactive in finding out if the taxes were paid in time or not.
As this is the first time, I am in receipt of these claims I request you to kindly waive of the interest charge for the prior periods.

I am ready to pay these charges (excluding interest) via online payment mode to your kind authority within the given timelines.
