Since past month we're facing acute water shortage. More air & mud than water is supplied. Supply pipes too are ancient. This is main road. Prime location - Jagat Narain Road/Kaiserbagh Bus Station area. Not interiors of old Lucknow.
We've been paying bills regularly including the arbitrary restrospective hike they did a few yrs ago. Despite this, there's no hearing for the matter. Officer's approach is casual "jab Gomti ka pani clear hoga tab regular supply milegi" one can either bang their heads or laugh at such unprofessional response!!
We're being forced to buy water by tankers for daily use. It's almost a situation where the state is unable to fulfill it's responsibility and thus is pushing people to install borewells in their premises (& make more money via charges, fines and whatnot).
On top of this we're being billed for sewer charge, which is not even existing on our road. There's no hearing for that either. They wont accept bill payments if one deducts this charge from the billed amount "aap uppar baat kijiye. Bill pur jama kijiye warna agle saal interest lag jayega"
When we complain of old pipes they ask us to get it done at our own cost by submitting road cutting charges to LNN - which I've been told are exorbitant. Not even exploring this option.
Being an ordinary citizen, Ive tried reaching the Mayor, MLA and MP through social media. No response.
Helpline numbers listed on this site do not exist.
Do we exist only to pay arbitrary bills? Does the state/LNN not have a responsibility to provide the basics for sustainace of life. If we don't exist who'll pay their arbitrary bills? No wonder a large number of people don't pay water tax. Situation is pathetic. Was this information helpful? |
