Lulu And Sky — defective heels delivered and return or exchange denied

I ordered a pair of heels as a gift for someone and unfortunately or logically the box was opened late and the heels were damaged. I immediately contacted lulu and sky but they are denying any help even when i am still in 10 days of return policy. Please help. Why is a customer forced to keep a defective item. I posted on their website too but have been ignored and my emails are also not being answered too. This is a very disappointing experience and i would request your help.
