[Resolved]  Mercedes Benz — Dealer of Mercedes- Benz Burnt My car

Dear Sirs,
I am owner of Vehicle chassis no W1N2539158 L030051(Vehicle No HP 58 A 5377, GLC 220 D), working as vice president (Operations) in Afcons Infrastructure Limited which is one of the best construction and engineering company in India and is part of $ 7.5bn Shapoorji- Pallonji group (SP) which has legacy over 150 yrs.
I recently executed one of the prestigious projects for India, Atal-Rohtang tunnel – Located in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, India, which is world’s longest tunnel at an elevation of 3060 meters and was inaugurated by Prime Minister of India, Honorable Shri Narendra Modi Ji, which was in news, nationally and internationally, which was defined as India’s Engineering Marvel.

I feel proud being Mercedes owner but sorry to state that Mercedes doesn’t have competent dealers’ network to handle problems professionally because of which my vehicle got damaged and for a small problem, they burnt my vehicle which was under their custody (T&T motors Jaipur, Rajasthan India). Detailed history of incident is narrated below:

On December 9th, 2021, I drove my Mercedes Benz GLC 220d (W1N2539158 L030051) to T&T Motors service center Jaipur, Rajasthan India for washing and general cleaning. As soon as I got in from the main gate, one of the service Centre staff member noticed fumes coming out from under the front fenders. On opening the hood of the car, staff members found fuel spillage on the Engine cover and nearby areas. After the engine cool down and inspection of the car, Mercedes service team informed us that there is a little leakage from one of the fuel hoses and after scanning the vehicle completely found that all other things are fine with the vehicle. We were advised to drop the car there and service Centre team opened the job card (Copy attached) and assured us that car will be ready to pick up by Monday (December 13th, 2021).
We didn’t receive any call on Monday i.e., December 13th, and then we started calling the service Centre staff on December 14th, Tuesday, from morning 10 AM and we did not get any response. After trying for about 8-10 times, we got a response that vehicle will be ready by 4 PM the same day and will be taken for test drive. Again, we did not receive any calls from the team till 4:30 PM. After getting in touch with the team, we were informed vehicle is going for trial and we should have an update soon.
At around 4:50 PM, we got a call that vehicle after the trial caught fire, I quote, “small fire”. We went there for inspection on 15th Dec to see the damage and the condition looked very bad. We were really surprised to see the vehicle condition. After lot of discussions, they were unable to find reason for burning and requested us to have another meeting next day i.e., 16th Dec 2021.
Next day i.e. on 16th Dec 2021, we again had meeting with senior managers of T&T motors and they were not able to convince us why this incident happened. We further stressed to know the reason for such mis happening, but they were unable to say anything rather they requested us to provide insurance of the vehicle to access the losses.
We, then requested them to show us the vehicle again. After, seeing the vehicle we found that vehicle was not cleaned properly before taking for test drive and one of their Service advisors accepted that there is diesel traces/footprint on the top of the engine. We, then questioned that if you have cleaned the vehicle properly before test drive, why there are diesel traces on top of the vehicle, again they did not have answer for the same. We then questioned, before taking for test drive who did the quality check and okayed for test drive and requested them to show details of quality check but neither they could provide the details of quality check record not they could provide us name of the competent Engineer who checked the vehicle before taking for the test drive. Vehicle was completely left to the mercy of technicians who doesn’t have any engineering knowledge for such complicated and sophisticated machines. This clearly shows that because of sheer negligence of Mercedes Service Centre (T&T Motors) Jaipur, this serious damage to my vehicle has happened which is almost in new condition driven only 6883 Km. Had this event have happened after taking handover of the vehicle, the losses could have been even more serious and might have costed a human life.
Therefore, since the vehicle has been damaged and lost its originality which cannot be retained in any condition and vehicle will lose its market value due to sheer negligence of T&T Motors, Jaipur, I now request

1) To replace the vehicle with new vehicle on Road.
2) To provide me with alternative similar kind of donor vehicle till I am provided with New Vehicle.
3) All Bank EMIS, till I am provided with new vehicle, should be borne by Mercedes T&T Motors Jaipur, Rajasthan.
4) Appropriate Compensation for financial and mental agony.
