Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding a fraudulent transaction and fake customer support call received in the name of Meesho.
I placed an order for a sofa cover on the Meesho app, which was later cancelled by Meesho stating “incorrect payment”. After this, I received a call from mobile number [protected], where the caller claimed to be from Meesho customer support.
The caller informed me that my earlier payment was incorrect and asked me to make the payment again, assuring that the previous amount would be refunded. I clearly requested that the earlier amount be refunded first, after which I would make a new payment. Later, the cancelled order amount was shown as returned.
Subsequently, the caller asked me to pay ₹788 via a personal UPI QR code with the name Mukesh Verma (UPI ID: [protected]@tbl). Trusting the caller, I made the payment of ₹788. After receiving the amount, the caller again demanded an additional payment of ₹791, stating that only after that the previous amount would be reversed.
I refused and asked for a refund of ₹788 first, but the caller insisted that I pay again. At this point, I realized this was a fraudulent activity.
I would like to highlight that
The caller misrepresented himself as Meesho staff
I request you to:
Investigate this matter urgently.
Take strict action against the fraudster.
Help me recover the fraudulently taken amount of ₹788.
Block the involved mobile number and UPI ID to prevent further fraud.
