Blatant disregard of the delhi preservation of trees act 1994 for maintenance/wellbeing of trees in the locality. Old and healthy trees have been cruelly overlaid with asphalt (Ref pic attached), as a result of which this tree is losing balance and may eventually fall if not helped. Many other trees in the area have been hammered with nails (Which hurt the plant/tree & impede growth) and are choked with cement too close to their roots. (Ngt clearly mentions - trees are entitled to 5ft. Open soil around their barks - in order to thrive comfortably).
I request for an urgent and thorough inspection of all trees in the vicinity and removal of nails/cement/asphalt which are flouting ngt regulations to a point of shame.
I'd be more than happy to help the officers in-charge to identify trees which need helping & speed the redressal process.
