These dogs roam freely in the streets, bark aggressively, and often chase pedestrians, cyclists, and children. Their behavior has created a sense of fear among residents, especially the elderly and school-going children.
There have been multiple incidents where children were unable to walk to school safely, and senior citizens have felt threatened while going out for morning walks or errands. The situation worsens during the night, as the dogs become more aggressive and territorial. In some cases, they have entered residential compounds, causing panic among families.
This issue not only poses a threat to public safety but also raises concerns about hygiene and the potential spread of diseases such as rabies. Despite repeated attempts by residents to manage the situation, the number of stray dogs continues to increase.
I request the Municipal Corporation of Patna to take urgent action by:
- Conducting a survey of affected areas.
- Deploying animal control teams to safely capture and relocate aggressive stray dogs.
- Initiating sterilization and vaccination drives to manage the population humanely.
- Ensuring regular monitoring and follow-up to prevent recurrence.
