I am resident of bharatnagar area, amravati road, nagpur, maharashtra. Couple of gutters are overflowing since 4 days and dirty water is entering our houses. Water is getting lodged in places make it a risk of diseases and polluting the environment.

It is getting difficult for the residents to even breath in such environment and all bad smell is spreading in the area.

Nmc collects taxes from us, but when we complaint and seek help, they become our bosses and shu us off their offices.

We need it to be fixed at the earliest.

Sub : Damage in Flat No. 402 due to modifications in Flat No. 502.

                    Dear Sir,

We write to you with great pain and anguish that due to unplanned internal modification carried out in Flat no 502 at Swapnil Shaivalini Apts., 7 North Ambazari Road, Shivajinagar, Nagpur – 440010, our flat No. 402, situated directly below the above flat in the same premises has been completely ravaged with colossal damage and destruction of all personal belongings, caused due to unrestrained water leakage from water pipes which were damaged during the course of the said internal modification. The extent of damage is enormous and our flat needs major repair and renovation to make it habitable.

Our flat was furnished with full wall cabinets since the day of occupation and until the said modification in flat no. 502 there was absolutely no damage either in the walls or in any of the furniture or personal belongings in the cabinets, which housed amongst others, a collection of rare and important books, journals and professional documents. Presently, the entire flat is absolutely bare and nothing remains except the skeleton in the affected rooms.

It may not be possible to comprehend the extent of damages by mere visual images as will be agreed and understood by all those who have seen the condition of the flat and the massive dismantling and clean-up operation undertaken for 2½ days. Nevertheless, we are attaching some photographs so that one can gauge at least a part of what we have gone through.

At this point of time, we are not in a position to put a value of the extent of damage occurred in our flat. However, we would expect that at least those items including the walls and cupboards etc. which have been totally damaged due to said leakage are repaired, painted and refitted to make the flat usable. Unfortunately almost 7 months have passed since we raised this issue with Mr. Ashutosh Vengurlekar, the owner of flat no. 502, and yet no concrete solution is in sight.

In so far as modifications are concerned, Mr. Vengurlekar removed two toilets where he has constructed a room and simultaneously, has built two toilets side-by-side where one existed in the original design. It is evident that he has carved out space from the bedrooms. More details need to be obtained from visual inspection and approved plan.

We have apprised Mr. Vengurlekar of the severity of damages, loss of personal belongings, painting, repair, rectification and replacement of damaged items, and our concerns for constructing a new toilet above our master bed room, not shown in the sanctioned building and floor layout plan. However, his response has been vague and is not in tune with the ground realities. It is unfortunate that our Society too has refrained from taking decisive step in this regard.

We are gravely concerned with the construction of a new toilet especially the one which is now located above our bedrooms, thus making our bedrooms perennially vulnerable from leakage and seepage of water. According to our knowledge and understanding, this new construction is not as per the building plan approved by the NMC.

We would now request you to prevail upon Mr. Vengurlekar so that he repairs our flat to its original condition prior to the damages occurred due to the modification in his flat and revert back the modifications carried out in flat no. 502 in violation of the sanctioned plan so that the flats below are safe and secure in all respect.

We look forward to your kind support and early action in this matter.

                    Thanking you,

                    Yours sincerely,

Dr. Subhas C. Basu Mrs. Indrani Basu

                      The Chairman
                      Water supply committee,
                      Nagpur Municipal Corporation
                      Nagpur

                      Kind Attn: Mr. Prakash Totwani

Sub: Request to arrest the major water leakage in the main water supply line behind Indora Police Quarters.

We the residents of Kashmirigali , and all buildings opposite police chawki, Indora, Nagpur -440017, wish to bring to your information that there is an acute water supply problem in our area since the water pressure is very low. The main cause being major water leakage in the water main pipe line behind Indora police Quarters. The pipe is totally damaged in small portion and complete water is flowing in to an adjoining gutter, due to which there is no pressure in further pipe line and the residents are starved of basic need of water.

The matter has been brought repeatedly to the notice of concerned officers, Mr. Dhakate & Mr. Junghare of Asinagar / Satranjipura zones. So far no action has been taken and the residents are left to starve.

You are therefore requested to kindly look in to the matter urgently and arrange to arrest the huge water leakage at Indora police quarters, which is the starting point of the main water supply line. This will not only improve the pressure of main line but will save a huge quantity of potable water presently draining in to a gutter and posing potential health hazards to all the residents.

We hope you will do the needful at the earliest and provide relief to all the residents
                      Expecting your best co-operation

                      Thanking you
                      Your sincerely

WE AGREE TO THE ABOVE COMPLAINT. THE OFFICERS ARE GIVING A VERY COLD TREATMENT TO SUCH A MAJOR ISSUE. LACKS OF GALLONS OF WATER IS FLOWING IN TO THE GUTTER AND RESIDENTS OF KASHMIRI GALI AND OFF INDORA CHAWKI AREA ARE LEFT TO STRUGGLE IN ABSENCE OF WATER POSING TREMENDOUS HARDSHIP TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT. PRAKASH TOTWANI IS ALSO NOT GIVING A HEED TO THE COMPLAINT IT SEEMS.HOPE THE COMMISSIONER MAY LOOK IN TO THE MATTER.

A STRUGGLING RESIDENT OF THE AREA...
WELL MR RATAN WE TOTALY AGREE WITH YOU.NO ATTENTION IS BEING PAID BY THE NMC OFFICIALS TO THE LEAKAGE OF THE INDORA CHAWKI POLICE QUARTER. IT CRIMINAL WASTE TO LET GO THE WATER IN TO THE GUTTER IN SUCH A HUGE QUANTITY, THAT TOO IN THIS WEE HOURS OF WATER CRISIS IN THE CITY.THERE APPEARS NO HONESTY OF PURPOSE IN THE COMMENTS MADE BY THE NMC OFFICIALS REGARDING WATER SHORTAGES WHEN THEY ARE NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO SUCH HUGE LEAKAGES.HOPE THEY TAKE A NOTE OF THIS AND CLEAN THEIR ACT BY STOPPING THE OBVIOUS WASTAGES.HOPE MR PRAKASH TOTWANI WILL TAKE THE COGNIZANCE OF THE SITUATIONS IF THE CONCERNED OFFICIALS ARE NOT ACTING RESPONSIBLY.
IT SEEMS THERE IS NO SH0RTAGE OF WATER BUT NMC IS NOT BOTHERED ABOUT LEAKAGES IN THE LINES. LIVE EXAMPLE IS THE LEAKAGE AT INDORA CHAWK POLICE QUARTERS. THE PIPE LINE IS TOTALLY DAMAGED AND WATER IS FLOWING IN TO GUTTER. CONCERNED OFFICER MR. DHAKATE, MR JUNGHARE OF NMC SATRANJIPURA ARE AWARE OF IT BUT ARE NOT TAKING ANY ACTION AND THE RESIDENTS OF KASHMIRIGALI AND BUILDINGS OPPOSITE INDORA POLICE CHAWKI [I.E.JARIPATKA P.S.] ARE FACING ACUTE WATER SHORTAGE PROBLEM. NMC IS REQUESTED TO ARREST THE LEAKAGE ON TOP PRIORITY. IT IS CRIMINAL WASTE TO LET SUCH A HUGE QUANTITY OF WATER DRAIN IN TO GUTTER CONTINUOUSLY. ATTENTION OF THE TOP OFFICER TO THIS CAUSE IS SOLICITED.MAY MR. PRAKASH TOTWANI TAKE A HEED OF THIS AND DO SOMETHING URGENTLY. WATER SAVED IS WATER EARNED.WHO WILL UNDERSTAND THIS PHRASE WELL MR. TOTWANI??????..YOU ARE THE ONLY HOPE ...PLEASE DO THE NEEDFUL.

if some body will not pay tax the officers will nude that person but now no body is responsible for this, i am not getting why the agency had to be appoint their are worker in nmc why they cant handle the work.
I hope some body will look into matter and resolve the problem and give proper service to comman man.
