Nanavati Hospital Mumbai — Reports not issued for a week since test done

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra

To The Executive Directors of Nanavati Hospital Dear Sir / Madam It is very sad I have to do this but I have no option and I would like you as a senior official of Radiant Lifecare to know the ground reality of what is happening at one of your Hospitals NANAVATI in Mumbai with regards to Corporate Executive Health check ups. I am the spouse of an employee at BPCL who has a Corporate tie up with your hospital for a Annual Executive Health Checkup. Since we, both myself and my spouse were due for a Health Check up we opted for Nanavati as this hospital was near to our residence and it had a very good performance record before Radiant Lifecare took over. Sorry to say paying for a health check up of that value was not worth it. Me and my spouse were not the only unsatisfied people but the whole lot of them who showed up for the check up on the 27th of Aug 2015. Everyone had some grievance or the other and were raising their voices with Ms Amrin, the administrative staff, though Ms Amrin was doing her best to organize things. There was hardly any supervision from any of your management staff other than Amrin. There were no escorts to the place of check ups like is done at other hospitals and diagnostic centers. The problem which I could summarize was the Rs 999/- basic health offer packages which the hospital had launched without doing any ground work of how much of staff they need for the process to go well. In addition people like us who had come for Health packages. Basically they could not cope up with the crowd. People from Executive Health Check ups, Basic offer health check ups and OPD were all clubbed together. To add to the woes was the breakfast served after the Fasting blood test, was not sufficient enough to get a good Post Pranidal reading of blood glucose. Quite a few people had raised their voices on this subject. Also for collection of blood during the fasting blood sugar rounds there was only one blood collector and the tokens issued were upto 50 that day. Imagine senior citizens who were left fasting till 9.30 am. For the price I paid for this annual check up the washrooms were unacceptable. There was continuous stench and no water faucets in the urinals. Me and my spouse have done our test on the 27th of August 2015. The billing dept.bill no is OPCA1516/54521. While writing this email I do not have the reference No of my spouse but till today (5 days) later I have still not received my reports from the hospital. I believe they were to be couriered yesterday. What sort of nonsense is this. Consultation with physician was done without the blood reports. When I did a check up I needed to know the status on that day itself. It is no good to get the reports with such delay, especially if there is a health issue. I personally feel that the general state govt. hospitals in Mumbai are better than yours totally disorganized. Papers are moved from one room to the other for the convenience of doctors so that they could leave the hospital early where by doing this would lead us to wait longer in the previous health check up room. I have to applaud Dr Chaudhary (excuse me if his name is spelt incorrectly) from the Stress Test Department who was very supportive and efficient in the line of duty. I do not know if the Medical council in India is aware of such ethics and practices being carried out by this hospital. But in the mean time I have informed BPCL about our horrible experience and have left it to the HR dept. to decide the next course of action. I do not know if I am being mean but facts are facts and surely this email will help you to take corrective measures for the betterment of the patients. Even at 20.00 hrs of the 1st of September the reports have not been delivered. I personally feel Nanavati should not be considered as an ISO hospital. It is a shame to have this title. Thanking you for your patient reading regards F. Cordeiro

This is to inform all that today my son visited Dr Prakash M Doshi.

Dr Prakash confirmed after X-Ray that there was no fracture, but only inflammation.

He has suggested the my son should be admitted in the hospital for this.

All readers, please note the advice of this doctor and the obvious practices going on at Nanavati.

Thanks
