I am writing about this today but this is a recurring experience where I have either observed or experienced how drivers skip bus stops without any regard for the passengers inside wanting to alight or passengers outside wanting to board. I am a 57-year-old lady, and if they can be rude with someone like me then it indicates that they have total disregard for age, gender and customer service.
Today, in bus no 54 I actually made my way to the front, and stood near the steps to alight at Kendriya Vihar. But the driver simply skipped the stop and went ahead to the next stop. We were two women passengers, who were waiting. And when we asked why he skipped the stop, he rudely replied that we were only standing and that we had to inform him about us wanting to alight. We had already taken tickets for Kendriya Vihar, we were at the gate and the driver arbitrarily decided not to stop. This is the third time I have seen this in one week. NMMT services are horrible, the timings are extremely erratic, their drivers very rude, and there is no way to complain to NMMT about this. The app too is extremely patchy and does not help passengers in any way. Public bus services like this need to be more accountable and professional. I expect the following corrections:
1. A proper time-table of buses to be made public
2. Prominent display of numbers for complaints in the bus itself, instead of large advertisements.
3. Tracking drivers and conductors and strict action against drivers skipping stops.
4. App to be well designed. Was this information helpful? |
