The Curious Case of Oneplus Phones!!
In the year 2014 a company launched its phone and the reaction everywhere was "Wow" and then I became fan of OnePlus mobiles. The reason for such huge success was reliability & customer centricity.
Over a period of last 10 years the company lost its path. It is no longer fair to customers. They now call themselves flagship brand but with inferior products, they are going nowhere. Being a OnePlus fan two years back I upgraded my earlier OnePlus to OnePlus 8Pro which was their flagship mobile. I hoped it will be near to my experience of Samsung Galaxy or Iphone but it is no where near in terms o[censored]sability. The oxygen OS which was the best few years back now has lot of bugs and lags. Now reliability was shuttered when suddenly the phone screen turned green and then gone black. I paid a visit to the customer service centre and was surprised to see a crowd lined up with similar screen issue. The issue is so evident, the phones with green line issue, the service centre is replacing screen even if the phone is out of warranty. Now for me they gave excuse that for green screen issue they don't have instructions of free replacement and will cost me around 17k. But I didn't dare to replace the screen after watching so many mobiles suffering screen related issues. Hence I decided to go back to Samsung Galaxy along with Apple iPhone. Astonishingly the iphone is 4 year old and yet I am not feeling any challenge to go for new model. It doesn't lag, it doesn't fail and it survived a whole night under water!!
The most frustrating thing is that I lost all my data. Even if OnePlus agreed to replace my screen I had to wipe my data because of security and safety reasons. Hence keeping a faith over these brands could be so expensive in our life. The phone cost could be measured but the value of data & memories lost couldn't be calculated. If you're a OnePlus user keep your data backed up. You never know when it will ditch you.
I bid adieu to OnePlus!!! These Long queue in your customer care center reflects that you are going Backward & downward only.
You're not a flagship brand nor a flagship killer. You have become disgustful OnePlus!!!
You broke my heart 💔
