On the 16th of September 2025, someone called from Online Legal India to make a payment for a GST number request. I was duped into believing that a Government agency was calling for GST registration and was inveigled into paying Rs 1769. I used a credit card for the payment.
They called again to make another transaction worth Rs 1769. I could not wake up to the chicanery and paid again through a credit card.
After realising the mistake I had made, I raised the alarm and called the backend team to refund the amount, as I mistaken them for a governmental agency and had paid. But they declined to issue a refund, insisting that it was against their policy. Now, I have to take their service, maybe in the future, but, according to them, the refund is improbable.
Their backend team called multiple times from 16/Sep/25 to 20/Sep/25, nudged me to pay again despite knowing what happened to me.
Now, I am struggling to get the refund. I need a refund of Rs 1769*2=3538
