Passport Office Cochin — Delay in delivery of Passport

I had the passport verification on 12/10/2022. It was shown as dispatched from Mumbai NSH on 18/10/2022 and no further updates . On contacting Passport office cochin, they told some of the applications are sent from Mumbai . I don’t kno why is it so as Aluva is just 1hr away from Kochi and they are dispatching that from Mumbai . When we contacted the passport seva kendra Aluva, they told all of the applications are being sent from Kochi only, those officials are just beating around the bush . We were not expecting this sort of delay as it is a life matter.
