Pepperfry — wrong online order return practices @ pepperfry.com (to ensure returns never go through) | |||||
Ok So here is the issue, PepperFry online store has one of the worst customers experience when it comes to returns. I was one of the regular customers who had purchased many items from them until that day when I ordered something and wanted to return the very moment I saw... what was delivered. But here is the catch, Online Store like PepperFry have a very well defined strategy to ensure returns can never see the sun-light. Here is how: 1. The return policy says 7 days from the date of receipt of the product please read here https://www.pepperfry.com/easy_returns.html?type=vip 2. At no point of time they mention that returning a product also means you need to upload the product images else the return will be automatically cancelled. 3. In case you fill there online form located for returns (see attached screen shot below) all fields are mandatory to fill except than (upload images of product, which as per #2 above is the only thing which will validate your return, else return will automatically be cancelled without any email or call or notification to you) 4. And all this time your user dashboard will show.. "Return Initiated" giving you a fake reason to believe in that your return is in progress. (screen shot attached) 5. You will get a confirmation email that someone will get back to you within 48 hours but no one calls or emails also (see screen shot attached) So if you place an order and you received your item and want to return it the very same day DAY 1, you can only do it via online "Return this Item" and the form you fill will ask you for everything (name, order number, select reason for return) but never will request you to upload images (which indeed is the only important thing for the return else returns are automatically cancelled). After filling this form you will get a nice confirmation email from PepperFry with subject "Return Request Acknowledgement" Your Request for ORDER #[protected] Dear XYZ Your Request for a return of Pepperfry order no:[protected] has been received. We’re on it. Allow us up to 48 hours to get back to you. Regards Team Pepperfry But guess what??? No one will call or reply back to you. .. Cause the hidden magic here is that you never uploaded the images for this product for PepperFry team to even acknowledge your return. Day 2, 3 are gone waiting for PepperFry Team to get back (as now you have an "Return Request Acknowledgement" email from them After no one picks up the item on Day 4, 5 you try to wonder and login back to your dashboard to see your order order history showing "RETURN ALREADY INITIATED" Now guess what you are sitting on DAY 7 thinking someone from courier will come and pick up the item soon... but guess what... TIMES UP!!! As per return policy PepperFry very cleverly made sure that 7 days are passed and you can't return an item. Such Cheat and wrong practices needs to be barred and people need to be made aware of such technology jigsaw puzzle these online estores created for simple customers to ensure they are profitable.
