[Resolved] PNB — Non issuance of new cheque book for my saving account without activating SMS alert facility. | |||
Dear Sir, I, Dr. Naveen Gupta, am a holder of saving account in Punjab National Bank, Chowk, Lucknow. My old cheque book is about to exhaust so I requested to issue a new cheque book through the Requisition slip provided with the previous cheque book. I was informed on 12/8/14 that my mobile number is not updated in the bank's record so I have to provide my mobile number to the bank in order to get the request for cheque book fulfilled and the same number will be utilised for SMS alerts for the transactions in my account. My complaint is why the cheque book can not be issued to me without activating SMS alert facility which I do not want to take as I had already opted against the same and it has been discontinued since January 6, 2014.
