Against the rule 19.1 (ii) of CBSE Affiliation Bye-laws which mandates that the society/Trust/Company registered under section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 shall ensure that the school is run as a community service and not as a business and that commercialization does not take place in the school in any shape whatsoever. However, most of the CBSE affiliated schools in Bengaluru are bluntly doing commercial activities out of school premises. Parents are pressurized to buy stationaries from school at a price more than 11 times of the printed price. For a pack of crayon with printed price of Rs.115, school charged me Rs. 1100. For 6, 50 page small notebook I was charged Rs. 2100.
This should certainly not be the ethics our tender aged children exposed to or else they will not come out of educational institutes as responsible citizens. Was this information helpful? |
