I have spent close to 5 months in pune and have seen plenty of minor issues but this one forced me to reach out to you. I boarded in a bus towards hinjewadi phase 3. My boarding point was raadha chowk and destination was shivaji chowk. I was standing at the front gate of the bus as it was reaching towards my destination. I saw a disabled man waving to stop the bus. But as it was the bus stop, waving wasn't needed. However he did his part showing his interest in boarding the bus. Now the wrong doings start. Bus did not stop anywhere near the disabled man (I am sure both driver and conductor saw him waving). Bus stopped a couple of meters away. I got down from the bus turning my head towards the man to see if he boards safely. My disappointment was at its peak when i saw bus leaving without letting him board. It was an extremely unsafe move and the disabled man was too close to the bus to meet with an accident. Now the question arises, why did it happen? Bus driver was in a hurry as he was driving fast throughout the way i was in. If the buses have dedicated place for specially abled people, why arent they safely allowed to get in? I am a resident of indore and conductors not just allow the disabled people in but they also help them come in. I never saw this gesture in any bus driver or conductor in pune. I dont know if this concern will be taken seriously but if i dont find any update, i will sure post it on social media. I hope i will not have to do it.
Now about the number of the bus, i am sorry i could not note it. But when got down from the bus at shivaji chowk, the time was sharp 9 pm and the date, 5th february 2018 i. E. Today. Was this information helpful? |
