My Car was parked in No Parking area, which was towed to Unknown Place on Nearby Street. I was asked to visit at that place and then asked to pay Rs 3500 as official fine charge. The other option they gave was to pay Rs 1100, but without any challan.
Being unaware of official fine amount at that time, I agreed and paid 1100 without asking for the challan. Later, I came to know the official fine for No Parking as Rs 719.20 on this forum.
From above incident, it is obvious that traffic police has tactics of intimidating common people with high fine amount, so as to impel them to pay the informal amount without asking for challan.
Can the Traffic Police give any justification for this corrupt behaviour? Can't they provide correct fine details on their website to keep the transparency for consumers? Was this information helpful? |
