Rainbow Hospital — Reg- Dr Jayanth Sundar Sampath- Unprofessional and rude behaviour, Denied Treatment at Rainbow Marathahalli

I would like to bring this to your attention towards how one of your
Sr. Dr Jayanth Sundar Sampath has behaved in utmost unprofessional
manner and at the end denied treatment for my Son. The Episode started
today at your Rainbow Hospital Marathahalli where I had an
appointment at 2:30PM.

The Chamber outside where Dr was consulting was provided with 6
chairs. When we reached the hospital, all the chairs were occupied and
hence we sat and waited outside near the reception. After around 20
min when almost 4 people left the area, me and my son (patient
) went ahead to sit in the 2 empty chairs there. We were sitting there
while the doctor's nurse comes up and straightway approaches us and
asks us to leave the area. I reiterated that while there is no
instruction why we have to leave. Even the receptionist who was there
as well has no clue on why we were to sit outside while there is ample
space there.

We anyway came outside and again after 10 minutes of wait around 3PM,
we got a call from the doctor and there the entire humiliation started
by the Dr. He first started with the word that you cannot shout on
Nurse and since you have done that, you should apologize to her. I
informed the doctor that once you finish, I will tell you what exactly
happened. He threw my Son's file on the chair opposite and then
started yelling saying we will regret this and straight away asked us
to leave the hospital. My wife pleaded stating that hear us out, but
he straightway went out in the reception and threatened us, stating to
call the police as we have shouted at the nurse which is a
non-bailable offence. He even started saying that we are the most
uneducated species who calls themselves educated. He even threatened
stating that he will ask the police to pick me from home.

Hence I would like to bring to your notice that:

1. Is this the way Doctor was supposed to behave with the patient when
I was with my entire family along with my ailing son.
2. Do the Dr. have a right to deny treatment while the hospital has
billed for that (the same was however returned back)
3. Do the Dr have a right to use a Verbatim like- we will give you the
police, Police will pick you up from your home.
4. He was shouting to my Father-in-law (senior citizen who again was
asking him to hear out and stop treating us like criminals) as well
stating that he will not treat the patient.

I felt grossly humiliated, insulted and my Son had a mental trauma and
stress as he was crying incessantly understanding that he will not be
treated. Even after seeing him crying doctor mimicked at him saying
there is nothing to cry and what is all this crying and all.

My Son was born in Rainbow Hyderabad under able doctor like Dr.
Varalakshmi and Dr Meera Iyer and we are associated with Rainbow since
7 years even after changing cities where I consider Rainbow at high
standard, but today's behaviour by the doctor and nurse would
definitely make me to re-think on the brand image Rainbow have.
