The front left suspension of my duster was replaced because of the oil leak during the last service at trident renault mysore road. Since then the steering gets hard on & off while turning to left but doesn't happen when i turn right. I was suggested by trident renault, mysore road to replace the steering rack (Which i believe is baloney since the part cost inr40, 000/-) without even looking at the actual problem or diagnosing the issue. It's like if you complain of having a slight chest pain you need to undergo angioplasty.
After going through the threads of various forums, i understand this is a part failure and the part in question in the steering rack which is critical. The failure of this could lead to catastrophic incidents for the drivers of renault duster.
Consider this has not been rectified or recalled by the manufacturer. Renault just wants to make money from gullible customers just by selling a poorly engineered steering rack in their cars.
