Dear madams/sirs,
This is a case of negligence & dereliction of duty on the part of the rto ahmedabad & rto vadodara, that i want to bring to your notice. I am suffering because of the inaction of the aforesaid parties.
I had lost my license last year, and i have been trying to get the license since then, and i still have not been able to do so.
When i first contacted rto vadodara, i did not have any copy of the license. When i requested them to help me pull out the data for the license smart card from the archives (I had furnished the date of issue, and all my personal details), i was told that the entire database was lost in fire a couple of years ago, because of which they do no have any database. I made 5 visits to rto vadodara (From my residence in mumbai) just for this purpose. Finally i was told to get a learning license made, and then get a driving license.
When i shifted to ahmedabad and tried to get the license freshly made from rto ahmedabad (I have all the relevant documents), i got the learner's license made. I missed the final date of driving license, since i was on a work-related tour on that date. I had to go through the process all over again to get the learner's license again.
Finally, i got a date of my permanent driver's license as 6th december 2017 (The date i am writing this mail). When i reached the rto office at ahmedabad at 12 pm (Designated time), i was told that the date has been cancelled. No tests ad issuance of driver's license is going on today. There was no information shared with me regarding the cancellation of the date.
I was asked to get a new date. Over & above this, i was told that i will need some additional documents (I had already furnished all my documents in original 7 photocopy duly attested), which was also not intimated to me earlier.
A lot of people were suffering at the rto while i was there. They had similar problems. Not only this, i took my issue to one mr. Vaniya (Rto officer). But he would neither register my complaint, not give me a reply in written form. When i went to meet mr. Girishbhai parmar, regional transport officer, he did not give time of 2 minutes to listen to my grievance. There were a few other people standing outside his office to bring the same issue to his notice, and asking for solutions, but instead of listening to any o[censored]s, he said he will call the police if we wait there. Is this how we are supposed to be treated? Is the rt officer not supposed to give solutions if we raise some flaw in t he system?
Please note that i am driving for 15 years, and currently without a permanent license, as the rto would not issue me a driving license, even though i have followed all rules & procedures. I have spent a lot of money, time & effort behind this process. I have wasted not less than 10 man-days, without getting any results!
Are we supposed to leave our work and just go back & forth at the whims of rto?
In a country where 'make in india' and 'ease of setting up business' is being promoted, does it take so much time and effort for a person to get a simple license made?? Or even to get a test date for the license?
Please show me a way out, get me a solution.
