Sahara India Pariwar Complaints & Reviews

I was introduced to Sahara City homes in the year of 2006 and had paid the down payment of 2,00,000 in the month of Jan 2007. The initial date promised for possession was towards the end of 2009.
Subsequent to getting a confirmation of booking, I started paying a monthly installment of 16,717/-. In 2007 when I first started requesting for a status update, I was told that all approvals are in place and the construction is just about starting. When I went to visit Devanahalli, I was unhappy to find that we could not even locate a board anywhere near the supposed site (directions given to us). I was then told that there is no board to prevent land grabbers and unnecessary price hike in nearby areas. Later, on repeated questioning I was told that it is still stuck in approvals and it will start in 2008. In the meantime I continued paying the monthly installment. Somewhere towards the end of 2008 on repeatedly being told that “approvals are almost done”, I decided to cancel the booking as I had already taken a site in Devanahalli and was paying interest at the rate of 9.5% to 11%. Since December I was pushing for cancellation and was repeatedly ignored. I was made to fill multiple forms by Mr. Ravi but when I call Sahara City customer care I was informed they did not receive any cancellation request but they did not entertain my request for cancellation either. They redirected me to my “home” branch (Y.N.Hosakota branch, Pavagada). On pushing further and filling some more forms, it was finally confirmed that the cancellation was action-ed in the month of April 2009.
From that day onwards, my struggle to retrieve my money started. At some point Mr. Ravi started ignoring my calls and when I called customer care and found a way to escalate it to your Bangalore office then Mr. Ravi deemed it fit to accept my calls. He told me that he lost his cell phone (but miraculously found it again). I have also included my phone records to indicate the number of calls that were made (these were calls that were answered, there were hundreds of calls unanswered).
I was repeatedly calling customer care, your Bangalore office, your Tumkur RM (Mr. Ravi’s boss) and Mr. Ravi to get my refund. Sahara customer care informed me that the
funds were dispatched, but Mr. Ravi kept saying that he is escalating it, the funds are not released yet, etc. On multiple occasions I e-mailed your Kartavya council and though I did not receive a response from them, there was some action on the ground. Finally Mr. Ravi started transferring the money but it was installments.
I am attaching the list of payments made as part of the refund and the amount that I had deposited with Sahara.
Booking amount on Jan’07 – 2,00,000/-
Installment of 16,717/- every month between Apr’07 – Dec’08 : 16,717 * 21 = 3,51,057
Total Deposited with Sahara= 5,51,057.

Finally, I was told by Mr. Ravi that the final installment was credited by cheque on 27th of Nov and it will be credited the next day. I didn’t get it the next day, neither the day after that. I finally got the last installment of my principal on the 7th of Dec. I had been given multiple promises regarding the date of payment. We were also offered interest in the event of delay or on withdrawal after 6 months of joining. Neither of those promises are honored either.
Please note attached are the bonds and receipts and also record of phone calls made. Also attached is a mail I had sent to Mr. Ravi with the certificate of posting on 1st of September.
I am also including emails that were exchanged with Sahara city homes customer care and Kartavya council but did not receive satisfactory responses. Especially the mail about the refund with interest.
I request you to look into the matter urgently and expedite the payment of suitable interest. In the failure to get a response and the interest due, I will be forced to file a complaint under the Consumer Protection Act of 1986. This consumer complaint will be at your cost and expense and will be required to address the mental agony caused to me due to your lack of transparency and deficiency in catering to the issues raised. Please do not ask me to talk to your branch as I am not getting a satisfactory response from there. I assume you have control over your branches and request you to take appropriate action and communicate the end result to me. Mr. Ravi also promised to give me an appropriate communication address for redressal of my complaint but after the principal amount was paid, I do not get any response from him in spite of my repeated calls.

I just want to inform u that i invested Rs 10000 as FDR in Sahara india , inthis connection i would like to inform u that Sahara gave us 2 lucky coupans worth Rs 10000 & 5000 repectively,

when u want to use these coupans, there is lot of candition apply ,

1) U can go at Lucknow office to purchase or utilise ur coupans,
2) They are taking Rs 1200 additional charges in againest Rs 5000 coupan,
3) Very less appliances are available at shop, Some time only TV is available,
4) u can't club to coupan to purchase anything,
5) above all condition's are not clarified in time of taken FDR,



So it is totaly unfruitful situation for Sahara customer,

That time i was in Ballabgarh, Faridadab & when i get transfered to Bhilai, i requested by written application to transfer my account to Bhilai. But I never get any support from Concerned local office about the transfer. When i went to local office at Bhilai, they told me that my account details were failed to trace by them, then i again went to Ballabgarh to inquire about the same, they replied that it was transfered. But still i am not able to collect it from Bhilai & it seems, local office representative are misguiding me in the matter.
So, sir i need to inform you people about the matter. Please sir i am requesting you to help me out in the matter so that i can collect my money soon.

I have purchased this SAHARA Ragat Bonds for investment about 6/7 years back through a agent of SAHARA which promises of 10% annual returns.
Now there is no agent nor office exists.
Tried so many times to contact SAHARA through customer care and through their web site but there is no responce.

The Sahara India provided me a statement of T.D.S.deducted on my commision earned during F.Y.[protected] is Rs.3536/-. But i gets a cheque of Rs.1390/- as a refunded amount.Then I went to Income Tax Office in Asansol.He told that Sahara India only deposits Rs.1390/- in N.S.D.L. It means that Sahara India does not deposited tha balance amount i.e.Rs.[protected].I expect that you takes a quick action on the above mentioned matter.

The basic feature which is relevent for my client is the death help, which is described in the back of the bonds certificate and the same is being reproduced for your ready reference:

The nominee (s) of the deceased bond holder shall be entitled for death help facility, subject to the following conditions:

a) The death of the bond holder occurs after 12 months (365 days) from the date of purchasing the bond (s) and before completion of tenure.
b) Age of the deceased bond holder was between 16 and 60 years at the time of death.
c) The deceased bond holder was not suffering f from any chronic / fatal disease within 3 years from the time of purchasing the bond (s). The nominee (s) of the deceased bond holder shall produced authentic, convincing documentary proof in this regard, along with birth certificate and proof of death of the bond holder to the satisfaction of the company.
d) The death of the bond holder did not occur due to suicide or death punishment by the court of law.
e) The death of the bond holder did not occur due to communal violence or war.
f) In case bond holder exercises his option for premature redemption, the nominee (s) of the bond holder shall cease to be entitled for the death help facility ab initio.
My client’s husband had died on 10.02.2004, while his age was 58 years 3 months and 7 days according to the office order issued by his employer Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited where in his date of birth is stated as 02.11.1945.

My client had submitted her claim for the amount of death help vide registered letter No. 4859 dtd. 24.12.2004 and had issued reminder on various dates but till date she had not received her death help amount as nominee / successor of late Motilal Barai.

I would like to request you through this complaint that the genuine and legal claim of my client should be redressed within 15 days from the receipt of this complaint, failing which my client will have no other option save and accept to knock the door of court of law for redressal of her grievances.

We in family had booked 3 flats for Sahara City Homes Bangalore in 2004. Initially we paid 5 % and then they compelled to pay next 10%. In total app 16 Lacs is tied in with them. Theres no sign of any development in Bangalore project. I want to lodge a complaint on Sahara City Homes on non fulfillement of promise. I want to know my rights as consumer to either get my money back with good interest rates or get legally binding agreement.

I know atleast 4 families who are in same same state.

We deposited Rs10000/-- in 2003 for allotment of flats in Delhi NCR. But no construction work has started yet. Also there is no information where our money has been invested. No details and also website of sahara city homes is giving any information.

have deposited Rs 10, 000/- on 08/08/2003 with Sahara India Commercial Corporation Limited (Sahara Rajat Yojana (C) ) vide application no[protected], Sahara India receipt number[protected] and Pass book serial number 25300/1347223 of Chandigarh region. Till date I have not received any intimation in this regard. Kindly intimate by return message about the exact status of my deposite.

Sahara as such is a brand but this is how they deal with customers...they are really fraud i guess.

i paid the company every month 10,000 on the basis that a house is coming up in gurgaon but come up and nothing is yet as its been 2 year.
i have paid 1,00,000 till date. please give my money back...

i HAVE DEPOPSITED IN SAHAR INDIA rS.100000 IN TEN EQUAL INSTALMENT OF rS.10000/- FROM AUGUST 2006 FOR BOOKING OF FLAT WHICH WAS PROMISED BY SAHARA TO GIVE THE POSSESION WITHIN 3 YEARS ALSO PAID ADDITIONAL rS.5000/- TO THEIR AGENT MR. MUKESH SHARMA WHO WERE DEALING ON B/O SAHARA. WHEN SAHARA HAS NOT GIVEN THE POSSESION WITHIN SCHEDULE TIME EVEN NOT STARTED THE GROUND WORK ALSO TILL DATE. I REQUESTED TO REFUND MY MONEY WITH INTEREST BUT WHEN I RECEIVED MY DEPOSIT I SURPRISED THAT ONLY RS, 95000/- HAS BEEN REFUNDED. I ALSO REQUESTED TO SAHARA FOR REFUND OF BALALNCE AMOUNT WITH THE INTEREST ATR EARLIEST UNLESS I WILL FILE THE CASE IN CONSUMER COURT.

I have booked 2 flat at their upcomming project in Gurgaon on 06.06.05 and paid Rs. 1, 11, 100/- agst each flat as advance booking amount. The receipt nos. are[protected] &[protected].

The possession was to be given in 3 years, but, till date the project has not been started.
When contacted the builder, their staff is always giving false assurances that the project will be started very shortly.

We had invested in the project which was published by SAHARA PVT. LTD. at Gurgaon through one of their employees Ugra Nath Jha (Employee Code : 910), according to him we were supposed to get the allotment by May’08, however apparently no construction has started on the land which was shown to us. We have paid Rs90, 000 as part of recurring Sahara city home scheme (Sahara Star Plus) (starting April'07)for this project but till date haven’t received any refund and repeated reminders to the company have yielded no results.We get a new date with the promise that we will get payment.

I WAS DEPOSITED 18000=00 IN SAHARA INDIA FINANCIAL CORPORATION LIMITED FROM[protected] TO[protected] IN SAHARA-4 SCHEME. MATURITY DATE IN THAT SCHEME WAS[protected].TILL THE DAY I AM NOT RECIVING MATURITY AMOUNT.

This is to bring to your kind attention that i had booked a home in Sahara suvarna Yojna and deposited Rs. 100000 in the year 2003 at Branch of sahara india pariwar rajkot gujrat. I had contacted Sahara office to get my money due to delay of project but did not got any satisfactory answer.

They provide me lucky draw coupen its number is "ZBE 5409 " but i cant see my result on their website due to lucky draw page can not be open since long, and branch office also not replying satisfactory.

i have not received any kind of information since long from the company about project progress.

when i invest money, sahara said that blocking period would be 4 years for withdraw amount and now they said that blocking period is 6 year policy is changed. till the date they not given me fair receipt of money.

i want to refund my money with intrest of 10 % / year (they promised this rate). please do needful.
