Sakthi Cars — Cancellation

I'd like to tell you that i'm not a bad critic on one's business as long as there is an ethic. With such belief, i approached sakthi cars, velachery, chennai. Everything went fine, the negotiations went smooth, which seems like a done deal and i paid the advance for rs.10, 000 as well on the same day. I totally trust the sales team at work there and i signed the receipt of my advance without reading out loud (Can't justify my stupidity to make payment without reading the forfeiting clauses in the receipt). Later i got into a situation that i had to cancel the booking that shows the other face of sakthi cars. I understand that they are dealing with cancellations on a daily basis and there is a process behind but how well they are taking advantage of customer's advance is terrible for the company of such standards. I wouldn't have paid the advance for sure if i was informed clear about the cancellation charges.

I'm not expecting 100% refunds but 50% of the advance amount is a scam. What if i paid 50 thousand as advance.

I bet they can't do closures if they are strong enough to explain their cancellation policy clearly in oral upfront to the customer and hence they preferred not to talk about. If maruti suzuki dealers are good enough to explain the cancellation policy clearly and charge only rs.500, these guys charged rs.5000 which is absolutely ridiculous on their so called standards.

The reason for me (Us) going for these auto-consultants but not olx is for the clean, transparent & smooth deal but there is no such thing on sakthi which is terrible. I’ll rather advice others to just stay away and don’t be a victim like me of losing money towards cancellation charge which is not acceptable at all.

Otherwise don’t make advance/payments until you get everything in writing as you like. They will put you pressure to get the advance but be smart enough to get everything confirmed in writing. There is an underlying scam on the bookings/cancellations and there is no such transparency. They won’t give you the owner details or the car details and you got to believe in them without knowing anything about the whereabouts of the car in the past.

Once they handed over my refunds after 50% as cancellation fee, they wanted my signature stating that i got the refunds for the cancellation but carefully ignoring the amount refunded. I wrote that i received only rs.5000 after cancellation out of rs.10, 000 paid towards advance, while signing the refunds receipt (At least i tried to be smart after the lesson learnt). They are smart enough to produce the refunds as cash but not as a cheque. They wanted me to return the original invoice but there is no credit note for the cancellation. Hence i don't have any receipt for the cancellation charges that i paid.

Overall, i’m extremely disappointed and i’m sure that this review will be helpful enough to let the buyers to be more cautious before making payments. Pure money making firm cashing in the first time buyers lack of knowledge and inexperience.
