[Resolved]  Siemens India — Washing machine after sales service

We had complained about noise and smoke coming from Siemens washing machine. Service engineer from Deepam Enterprises came. Without even touching the machine, on hearing about the problem he said that there is a design problem due to which the heating element along with the board conks off. After 2 days, we received a quote via sms for Rs.12000/- for replacement of faulty part. I regret the day when I bowed to my husbands wish(a quality professional) to opt for this German product that according to him has better quality. Any sane person would b willing to pay 50%of product cost for replacement of a part? We hardly used hot water wash and the frequency o[censored]se was also alternate days. Selling defective product and ripping off customers on after sales and parts is unfair and unbecoming of a company like Siemens.
