On the basis of a Power BI Workshop hosted by Mr. Jatan Shah, I was convinced to enroll in a paid "Masterclass" course, during which a discounted fee was offered.
I paid for the course on the spot during the live session, without sufficient time to evaluate whether the course was right for me.
Immediately after the workshop, I realized I was not in a mental or practical position to pursue this program. It was a rushed decision made in excitement.
On the same day, I sent an email requesting cancellation of the course and a refund. This was well before the course started, and I have not accessed any course materials, video lectures, assignments, or services.
🔹 Company Response:
Over the last three weeks, I have received a series of repetitive, copy-pasted responses from the team, refusing the refund on the grounds of an internal "no refund policy."
Their conditions include:
Completion of all 70 assignments in the course before eligibility for a refund.
A blanket "non-refundable" clause, even for customers who have not accessed or used the course.
This response was repeated multiple times, despite me clearly stating that:
I never attended or accessed the course content
I am no longer interested in this field
I enrolled by mistake and acted quickly to cancel
I am asking them
Under which Indian law is it justified to deny a refund when no part of the service has been used?
If I have clearly stated I’m not interested in pursuing this course, why am I being pressured to continue?
How would you react if someone forced you to learn something you have no interest or intent in pursuing?
I mistakenly registered for the masterclass on 27th April, and on the same day, I requested a cancellation and refund. Why is this being denied?
Which law allows you to force someone to avail a service they do not wish to use?
Who has approved your internal policies, and under which legal framework, if they go against basic consumer rights?
they are denying to refund.
🔹 Relief/Resolution Sought:
I request the full refund of the course fee paid as I:
Did not attend or access any course material.
Communicated cancellation immediately after payment.
Made the request well before the course started.
Have acted in good faith throughout.
