SRM University — letter of recommendation

Im an ex student and currently working in kerala. As i'm planning to study my msc. Abroad i required a letter of recommendation from srm. When i contacted the hod of science and humanities mrs. Chitra and explained my requirement her assistant said i would have to come to the university to get the letter to which i explained that im currently working and also in a different state which would make it very difficult as a girl to come over there for a simple letter. I suggested that could forward the details and they just need to print it on their letterhead, sign and scan it back but they refused. I also asked them if i could get my class tutors number which also they refused stating that they coudnt share it "without his consent" and hung up the call.

As a top university in chennai i have some relevant questions to the management

1. Is this the way you treat an ex student who has chose to study in your university?
2. With students coming from various parts of india, you expect them to come to the university to get a simple lor?
3. With everything getting digital, you expect working induviduals to come physically to your university spending 1000s of rs. And more importantly their time when it can be done online in a matter of a few minutes.
4. Why is it so difficult for them to share their tutors number? Is this a joke. He was my class tutor. What kind of ethics is followed by this university?

This is a disgrace to the students who have spends lakhs studing here and the legacy of this university. I'm sure there would be 1000s of other students who are forced to experience the same and i feel this has to be brought up with the concerned authorities for a feasible solution.
