Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited — Refund of stamp duty wrongly deposited in Registration account | |||||
While purchasing the house, we have to deposit stamp @6% of the registry value and registration fee @ 1% of the registry value. SHCIL is authorized to issue stamp papers and registration certificate. There are two separate accounts where we have to make the above two deposits. For stamp duty they have a corporation bank account and for registration fee they have a HDFC Bank account. I deposited the stamp duty in the registration account by mistake for which I applied refund by following the process as advised by them. It's been two months I have not received the refund and there is no answer from their side as to when the refund will be received. Can some one help me whether what action I can take to get my refund. What I now understand is that there is a clear case of convenience money these people might be looking for to process a legitimate refund case. Nobody is listening or answering anything there. I am in big trouble. Please if some one can help. The refund amount is Rs 444, 000/- and I am in desperate need of it. This is my own money, I just want a refund.
